Game looks good and look forward to playing it. I'll check it out Friday night. I talked to Ocean's and looks like the max drop is 4/hand in a full game as there's no jackpot drop. 4 handed or lower, it's 1, 5 handed 2, 6 handed 3. That's a lot better than the LA rakes.
Who r you referring to as "you guys"? In any case, I can vouch for silentfink as I know him personally. He is not a shill or affiliated with oceans 11 in any way.
We switched the 2/5 to 5/5 when we were 6 handed around midnight I think. Stayed mostly full for awhile and was very good action, with about half of us straddling. Still think Mississippi should be allowed.
Hopefully I can make it again next week.
Thanks for the reply - I'm going to drop someone off at the airport then decide where to go gamboooool tonight. I'll call in Oceans to see what the action is like.
A bit off topic, but if anyone lives in the La Jolla area and wants to carpool hit me up! I'm a UCSD student so I don't have car as it's not really necessary. Main game is $2/3, willing to pitch in on gas

Probably would see me as some
creepy old man(30s) but I live in La Jolla and go up couple times a week. Will shoot a pm if I think about it.
Im a 2/3 reg at oceans eleven casino in oceanside, CA.
im thinking of trying out the 5/5 there
how much different is it, skill level wise, and what are standard raises at these limits from the 2/3?
live is never a standard 3x ofc
for people that dont play at oceans , in youre experience what is the difference from a local 2/4 to 5/5 or 1/3 to 5/5 ? skill level wise and standard raise size.
Skill level wise there is a definite difference. It's sort of weird the way it goes. I find the 1/2 game to be tougher than the 2/3, and the 5/5 to be tougher than both. I generally only ever play the 5/5 if its a real live game, but it is usually filled with semi good to really good players. 2/3 is super soft imo so the transition might be a bit weird for you, just my $0.02
ohh ok thanks. you a reg at oceans? what's standard raise at the 5/5 btw 2/3 is like 15 or 20 which i think is kinda big for a 2/3.
Opens are typically between 20-45. Stacks are typically waay deeper (in BBs) at 5/5 v 2/3 , which allows a lot more "poker" to be played. In my experience you will find a lot more good players at 5/5 but also a lot more gamblers who are more concerned with the thrill than playing winning poker. I also think that there are a lot more "old man coffees" at 2/3 who sit and wait for the nuts, which can sometimes make for a slow-ish game.

Chili or anyone else,
How does a box or players bank work? I've been playing more and my games usually go til 3-4am so thought it might be a good idea.
Thanks
