Yea I watched the floor man scroll through channels for 20 minutes. Had to settle for the redzone channel. Seems weird that their tv's don't. Yet the sportsbook a couple hundred feet away has everything.

doubt there's an under 10-table room anywhere in the country with NFL Sunday Ticket, maybe you need to adjust your expectations

Re: Ocean Resort and Casino (Atlantic City, NJ)

Hey y'all! Just curious if anyone has any knowledge of how much poker play might get a comped room or two (thinking Sun-Thur). Is it like borgata where putting in a long session or two should get me there?

Also curious how often 2-5 has been running on Fridays?

Thanks!

It is like Tropicana or Borgata.
I think the turn around time
Is about 30 days for
You to get a room offer
In writing.
Folks also report
Getting free rooms without
A room offer, so it never hurts
To call Reservations and ask.

This Summer I tried to watch
a baseball game and the
Sports Book told me
Ocean Resort didn't
Pay for the channels.

If the Sports Book
shows everything
Maybe they pay
For it.

The poker area doesn't
Get some of the
Premium channels
But they are paying
Poker players over
$20/hour to play,
so why complain?

Yesterday the area
Was packed thanks
To poker dealers
And supervisors
From the Borgata
and other casinos
Playing 4-8 OE
at 3 tables for
About 15 hours!
(One of the sheared sheep
ended up at our 1-2 table,
and all the poker dealers
kissed her as they passed
By. Such is the life
Of pretty young Borgata poker
dealers.)
And they had an
Excellent comps promotion
And folks chasing
Cashback and premium cards...

2-5 has been running
On Fridays and Saturdays,
sometimes for a few hours,
sometimes for a few days...
Depends on how long it
Takes to skin the sheep.

You can shear a sheep a hundred times,
but you can skin it only once.

Re: Ocean Resort and Casino (Atlantic City, NJ)

A little birdie flew by me today, and told me some info about ocean poker room. Expect huge things on the horizon. Expansion coming, new tables coming, cup holders on the way and usb’s. Tournaments en route shortly.
Say goodnight to Nugget, and ballys. Maybe even harrahs. Ocean will be the new #2.

I've only been there for occasionally 1/3 and 2/5. The 1/3 is barely slightly better than 1/2 but now the games aside from the rare 2/5 that breaks out will be 98% minbuyers not reloading

Increasing the minimum buyin would be helpful especially with that promo.

Wow, that's insane! How can they possibly afford to do this???

$2.50/hour is already quite generous, but $7.50???

I thought the comp amount was $1.25/hr and was doubled (promo month) and that's how it got to $2.50.

3x comp (for October) of $1.25 making it $3.75 seems more realistic.

Guess everyone will find out in a few days

Re: Ocean Resort and Casino (Atlantic City, NJ)

i think theyre worried they will lose a lot of regulars oct 1 because peoples black cards will no longer be good anymore unless theyve earned enough tier points. and since u only have til the end of september a lot of people will lose their black cards. so theyre doing this to entice them back in

That's all fantastic but the games right now are absolute nit-fests and I'm sure that won't change with the $7.50 per hour comp rate.

Re: Ocean Resort and Casino (Atlantic City, NJ)

Just asked a supervisor: poker players will be getting
$3.75 comps/hour in October.
1.50 is base rate for comps,
so 3X = 3.75

You can pick up your cashback
starting October 15,
noon to midnight
Every day until
The end of the month.

Plus dipce .. your math is wrong! The rate is 1.25 x 3 not 1.50 x 3! That would be 4.50 per hour and not the 3.75 that it is going to be!

The base comps is 1.25 an hour
In September we got 2X comps = $2,50 an hour
In October we will get 3X comps = $3.75 comps/hour
(My error due to being tired,
Was to incorrectly write 1.50,
1.25 is correct,
[I don't work for a casino so I hope
I'm allowed the occasional clerical error.]
I didn't make an immediate correction
Because my conclusion,
$3.75 for October, was and is correct.)

So now that the tier match has ended, how many tier credits do you get per hour for poker??? It's no longer listed on Bravo.
