I believe the new owners will have to apply for a gaming license. We'll find out then who it is.

Not good news posted on the net today, apparently the figures cast some grey on the operating net to debt ratio and the C.C.C isn't too happy .More to come out as the story develops, sad cause on the surface it looked like the town was in a renaissance.

You can get a room there, place your favorite sports bet, eat at some great restaurant's play poker in a variety of games and it's practically brand new with some of the most seasoned dealers on the east coast, and yet the promo chasers still grind it out other dungeons. Is it about the games or what you can get from the house just for using your card?

Yeah, I don't get it. Why isn't this place making money and more popular with tourists/gamblers of all kinds?

Also, why hasn't one of the big boys (MGM, Caesars, etc.) looked into snagging it? I mean it's a beautiful property and they could get it at a discount. Heck, if I was Caesars, I'd buy it and look at maybe closing Ballys.

the base rate is $1.25. Poker players get 2X every day = $2.50. On March 1st, platinum players got 5X = 5x1.25 = $6.25

I think $3+1 rake would be far more effective at getting all 10 tables running each day than all the promos they are runnin. Just my opinion.

I think a possible issue is that repeat customers/players would need to play a certain amount for status at a casino. For poker players, that would take many hours to move to the highest levels. It’s hard for players to give business to a place that may suddenly close and then all it’s status benefits and progress are lost. Borgata has built a strong brand and loyalty - correct me if I’m wrong but I believe they’re the only consistently profitable casino in Atlantic City?

I just think that the facility might be too expensive to run and maintain for the size of the AC market.
