The poker area is on the main casino floor
So there is tremendous foot traffic all
Around...

200-500 people on line to get
A player's card, including
Several 2-4-6 players

In after dipce

Edit:

And Inb4 all the borgata regs that are inevitably going to start badmouthing the place in hopes of dismantling any competition from the boring Ocean side with beaches and boardwalk and stuff. "Come to the swamp where we got your ass stuck in a building all day."

LOL Borgata MGM..... here I come Ocean Resort!! haha

The sports betting
Started and there is
A reward system
Which you can get a card
For, different than
The player's card
You get free bets
Based on sports points
You accumulate

Any info on the owners and what their outlook is on Poker at the beach?

How Pro-Poker are they?

Any news on Dailies/Multi day gaurantees?

Whats rake @ 1-2?

Where is room located?

Room difficult to get to?

Food and Bathrooms near by?

I see $2/hr @ 1-2, thats impressive.

The food is very close.
The dealers are so good,
And the cocktail waitresses
So young and pretty,
I didn't even notice a rake..

There appears to be a 10%
Rake, $4 max rake in the 1-2,
The cash back, and other
Promotions have not started yet

There are 5 full games now

Your typing style is incredibly tilting. Gonna have to avoid this thread for now until other people start posting regularly.

Trip report
Since I was there for the first day of the Revel I wanted to be there for the first day of the Ocean Resort. Some rambling observations.
There were only 3 or 4 dealers (not surprising with only 8 tables) and all experienced. The first one at our $1/$2 table admitted not having dealt poker in a couple years, but, aside from forgetting to cut the cards, did okay. Tables are nice, no cupholders but a nice solid space to put drinks with a drinkholder they give you. Wifi needed a password (divein4fun), worked fine. Cashier cage 20 feet away. A lot of issues with computers, the genesis system on the table, etc. Rewards Cards worked sometimes, not others. Funny to see people waiting on line for HOURS to get a card.
While it's definitely easier to find the room, and it should bring in some recs, I really don't like playing in a room right on the casino floor.
Overall, had a nice couple hours and pocketed a solid $7 win lol.

There were 5 tables today
Expect the place to be packed
On friday night and Saturday.
I think they had 2 1-2, 2 2-4-6,
And one 1-3. If you liked the taj
Dealers, as I do, you'll love
This place. There is no
Doubt playing in the middle
Of the casino floor
Attracts all kinds,
& no doubt, many tourists,
I love it. There were many
Very young cocktail waitresses,
They were all very pleasant
And aimed to please .
There's no doubt Ocean
Has the strongest dealers in AC,
they all cut their teeth dealing
The mid-limit games at the Taj,
but have the patience for the
Octogenarian 2-4-6 players,
I left very impressed, the few
1st day kinks will soon be
Resolved. On the way home,
I passed by the
Hard Rock Casino where the even
More young cocktail waitresses
Were wearing practically nothing,
not good for my blood pressure...

I was there today. Thought the dealers were consistently terrible but loved the feel of the room and the potential for quality games there.

I'm excited for the promos to be announced and for them to work through the opening issues.

Hello to all, just wanted to take a minute to wish the poker staff at Ocean the best of luck in their endeavors. I'm confident Tom and his group will give it their all in bringing poker back to the Boardwalk. The location change will definitely provide more exposure to poker at the property and make it more convenient for guests to come and go. Show them what you got guys... make me proud, Ill be keeping an eye on you from NY!

Regards,
Frankie

Huh? Why would a pink chip game be mobbed there, when it has failed everywhere else in the past few years (including Borgata, Harrah's, Bally's, and Tropicana)?

I would love to see one really take off and last, but the demand doesn't seem to be there. The O8 pink chip morphed into a $10 - $20 after all....

Hi Frankie! "Bringing poker back to the Boardwalk"?? That would be news to Tropicana and Bally's! I certainly do wish them well at establishing another room.

LOL, not exactly what I meant by that! The "end of " before Boardwalk kind of got lost in the posting. Absolutely no offense intended to Bally's or Tropicana! Hope all my AC friends are doing well!
