The Good News:
1/ Due to the September
Promotions,
All the tables were
Full Saturday night
With a waiting list
And 2 2-5 games.
6 1-2 games.
2/ they've corrected
The comps per hour.

The Bad News:
1/ due to a "glitch"
In the computer
Software, everyone's
Tier points were
Screwed up Saturday.
Not resolved 2 days later.
@TheOceanAC
Expects the
Issue to be resolved tomorrow.

More Good News:
3/ today I saw
A full house was usually
Sufficient to win
The high hand prize

The Ugly News:
1/ the computer Software
Folks they employ are
Worse than terrible,
- Everyone should follow
Up, starting tomorrow,
to make sure starting
Saturday, September 1st,
they got 360 tier
Points an hour.
2/ they need to do a better
Job of seating people in
The Black Card Player's Lounge,
So there aren't fights for a chair.

Casual observations of Ocean's Poker Room:
Played at Ocean this weekend, will try to reach the 50 hour mark for rake back this month. Heard the games have been good, maybe so, but they weren't what I expected. Guess I was expecting too much.
Monday, so many decent regs from Borgata were in the room that I wasn't sure where I was. I recognized half the room. I've always thought that "Poor play attracts good players" and that's what seems to have happened here.
The promotions are OK, comp of $2.50 @ hour is great especially for 1/2 and the rake back is VG, dealers & floor were OK but didn't seem to handle situations as well as they should.
Will see what this month brings but so far it's looks like a one month fling.

What does that mean? Every game isn't $2.50? 2/5 is now a higher amount?

What I meant by "they have
corrected the comps per
Hour" is that in June, July,
& about half of August,
There was no mathematical
Relationship between
The number of hours played
And the number of comps
Received. (At least for 90+%
of innocent 1-2nl players.)
In September, it has been
corrected. There is now
A mathematical Relationship
Between hours played
And comps earned for
1-2 NL players.
2.5 comps per hour played.
(Players who have not received
The correct number of comps
Per hour, in June, July,
or August, can have that corrected.)

The 2-5 players are a small
Group of prima
donnas whose treatment
By the casino
Is outside the scope of
This discussion.

I checked my hours for the
Month of September and the
Number of hours played by poker
Players is also working.

What was not working was the
Number of tier points for
all of the casino customers.
When I checked
On Tuesday I was told it
Would be taken care of.
I had been given the same
answer on Monday. (The
Player ahead of me in line
At the player card services,
Was told, with a straight face,
That He had earned 0 tier points
For the Summer.)

Meanwhile, if on Monday
I couldn't find a cocktail waitress
With adequate water on her tray, yesterday I
Didn't see a single cocktail
waitress in 3 casinos I
Walked through, &
Few customers, Atlantic
City
Looks like a graveyard
Or a ghost town.

Soon, as the cool Fall weather
Moves in, most of the hustlers,
Grifters, drug dealers, &
sex workers will be leaving
Town too. I hope they keep
The Class II police officers.

Tier points, and football picks
are all working! See bravo for

Is the rake now 4+2 for promotions? I actually liked the JUST $4 rake. Hopefully a 2/5 game runs tomorrow, I'll be there!

Received a boat load of points that apparently i was owed. Left Tuesday needing 15k for 75,000. Came in Wednesday and it said i only needed 6500.

Rake can be helped by making a 1/3 1-500 the smallest game. I walked in to take a peek for the first time tonight off the boardwalk, 2/5 game looked bad no obvious fish and a couple 3k stacks. The 1/2 games looked pitiful as far as chips go

If this is supposed to be a premium resort, they should just make the smallest game 2/3 or 2/5. Especially since poker is there as an addition to main games and not the main attraction.

Instead, it's now a local nit rake race to Black card. Then again, this is exactly what I suggested they do to build a small crew of regs during September to keep games alive.

2/5 is too big for smallest game especially for a room that size, even Bellagio had to add a 1/3 years ago. I don't plan on going back unless I see a 1/3 with at least a $500 cap. Would be helpful for someone who is there often to express this and it would be better for everyone and probably increase traffic

It's an 8-table poker room and you guys think getting rid of the most popular game in just about every casino would be a good idea. Okay then.

I think this is a terrible idea.
1/ folks prefer to play 2-5 nl or 1-2 60-300
2/ 1-3 is offered but doesn't get
As much interest.
3/ forcing customers to play a game
They don't want to play will
Drive them away to another casino.
4/ making the games bigger,
Means the fish will go broke faster,
and the games break up quicker.
It's much better for the casino to
Rake $80/hour for 9 hours than
To rake $90/hour for one.
5/ all of this talk of disguising
2-5 games to appear like super
1-2 games is not so welcome here,
- that's the game at the Borgata,
To get people to play stakes they
can't afford or don't have the skills
To play...

Played at oceans, some really weird things

1) rake preflop pots
2) players can talk in hand, saw two people agree to check it down in a 3 way pot (1 short stack all in)

3) dealer don’t count reds, personally saw one dealer count a $100 $5 chip stack afterwards, realize shes short one, then discreetly takes a red from the pot to make it even. At the end of the hand, dealer counted out the “fixed” stack to show its $100 full...

Uhhhh.... there is no way they should be allowed to check it down.
Overt collusion.

News to me. I have mentioned to both Vinny & Mabel about the rooms being so expensive without black card status. Was never offered a free room.

why would they offer you a room? offers are based on your play - if you're not playing enough poker, you're not getting a room

As long as you have high enough adt, you will get offers. Your tier status is irrelevant. I was getting both Fri and Sat at the water club free long before I obtained a higher tier card.

Looks like the word is
Finally getting out on how
Good the promotions
are here. On a Thursday
Evening in September:
1 2-5 NL, 1 1-3 NL,
4 1-2 NL. I already made
the 75 K to keep the
Black card, but may join
You this weekend to
finish my 130 hours
and get the $400
so-called 'crazy cashback' dollars
in October.
200 hours gets you $500,
50 hours = $150, and
80 hours = $250.
And as I posted on
August 24th there are
Many more promotions,
Too many to mention,
(even in a lengthy post,)
that You'll get for being a
Loyal player and putting
In your hours.
