I moved down to the 1/2 200 game to teach a friend a few months ago and now I stay for the action, the 2/5 is juicy and soft but I've Find the risk/reward of the 1/2 so much greater that its been hard to move back up.

I'm headed there to Fallsview today around 12. Should be fun considiering the weekend fish fest. It sucks that the main event is sold out. WTF would they cap it? Idiots. Now I gotta try sattys into the 2.5. Fallsviews 2-5 is so juicy I haven't played any lower stakes since.

wow had a blast at 2/5! i never knew the rake system there was 6$ (1.2 bb) per 1/2 hour which isn't that bad at all! For short stackers such as myself (buying in with 100) it hurts me a lot if I play like a nit. But I managed to get lucky a few hands and sooner or later I started with a full stack... but then it got late and I had to go home

would definiately go back... everyone there plays it like 1/2, I personally dont mind the short stackers... makes it easier to play againist although the frustration in waiting for hands can be annoying but I'm a patient guy so I don't mind... cool rake system though!

I screwed around the 5/5 plo 2 weeks ago at fallsview while waiting for 1/2 at niagara to open up(noon on weekdays). We played 5 handed for about an hr until it broke at 11:45, and I can say that none of those players could beat 1c2c omaha online, lol

Good to hear. Should definitely push to get PLO ran more often

There seems to be rumours about Fallsview getting BBJ separate from Casino Niagara. Although dealers who I've talked too have turned it down.

Supposedly, the players at Fallsview are tired of the BBJ always going off at Casino Niagara lol

Seriously of all the other things Fallsview does terribly wrong that the players complain about they decide to listen to donks complain about the BBJ?

This is probably wishful thinking on my part but there is no way they will run cash games in the tournament room at night will they? Thinking about how long the waiting lists are going to be that whole week my head hurts already...maybe they will run single table sattys in there? Anyone know of their plans at all?

No chance they will run cash games in tournament room....wait list for cash games that week will be brutal. As a reg who is NOT playing in these tournaments because of the terrible structure (5K is ok others are bingo) I will playing elsewhere that week. Last year people waited 8-9 hours for seat in cash game.

Does anyone recall how long the wait was at Casino Niagara last year during these tournaments? I plan to bring a friend (rec player) there to play $1/$2. He doesn't get to play much and I would hate for his night be ruined by a ridiculous wait time.

I'm assuming that Casino Niagara will be short on dealers and wont have many tables open since most of them will be directed to Fallsview for the tournament/cash games.

Casino Niagara was very bust last year but not a 8+ hour wait...if they open all 12 tables waits won't be too bad but that's a big if.

Should be noted the Seneca casino is about a 10 minute walk from Casino Niagara (20 from Fallsview) and that room is run so well. They typically only have 1 2/5 table running the rest are 1/2 but they respond to demand and will open more games as needed. They will run any game if they have 10 people.

If your coming from out of town I would recommend bringing your passport as Senca is a good option between tournaments.

Agreed that Seneca runs there poker room much better than the two casinos on the Canadian side. Have played there in the past, however have never walked across only driven. Is it easy to get across on foot and any concerns or advice in dealing with customs if I walk over? Thanks in advance for any info.

I have drive at time too but I prefer to walk...never hurts to get some fresh air before and after long session. Plus walking across Rainbow Bridge is awesome if you've never done it....as far as customs I find it much easier. Never a line up, only costs 50 cents (vs $3 to drive), and no trunk or anything to search so typcially much faster getting through then in car.

Thanks again depending how I do in the tournament and if room at Fallsview is to long of a wait for cash games might try this out.

This really is a big deal. Most money goes in from Fallsview, most money goes out at Niagara.

Played five hours at a $2/$5 NL table at Fallsview yesterday afternoon.

I called ahead from Hamilton at 1pm, and was #30 on the list (#12 live) when I checked in an hour later. 15 minutes of waiting and a new table opened up. The room had about a half-dozen $2/$5 NL tables going all afternoon, and we occassionally were less than full with open seating.

Vince was working the floor, he was very pleasant and polite.

I was stuck on table 6 in the far back, could not get any wifi signal on my cell phone. Bit of a hassle to walk to the main casino floor next to the craps tables to check e-mail, cost me a number of free hands. Perhaps it was just my phone.

No tableside food service -- what the hell??

Gotta love this one... dealers cannot sell you chips out of their racks. Why the **** do you have $5,000 in green sitting right there then?? My buddy busts out and wants to rebuy... cannot buy from the dealer, cash does not play, nobody at the table has chips in their pocket that they are willing to sell, nor can they go south and sell from their stack, the room has no chip runners... so he has to resort to leaving the table for 10 minutes, walking across the floor, waiting in line and buying them from the cage himself. Pretty ridiculous.

$6 / half hour time charge instead of a per-hand rake. Why do they do this? Brantford doesn't have a time charge, neither does Casino Niagara if I'm correct.

Brantford rakes the $2/$5 and $5/$10, but they do also use a time charge in the $10/$20 and $20/$40 games. Paying session fees rather than rake every hand actually saves you A LOT of money.

I definately agree with you about the rebuys though. Walking all the way to the cage for more chips is so ridiculous. Especially on days when the first cage is closed and you have to walk all the way acrosss the casino! Maybe they're hoping we'll stop and play some blackjack on the way, LOL.
