It drops you off at Fallsview so you're going to have to walk/cab to Casino Niagara.
I was checking the departure/return times, are we allowed to depart at one time and then return with a different group at a different time or are we forced to leave when we are schedule according to our departure?

I also called them today and they told me that only the Kennedy/Steeles, and Brampton pick-up sites have free parking. Narrows the advantage over driving if I'm paying for parking. Could take the subway from work, but don't know if I'll be coming back at 4:00 a.m, and would have trouble getting back to the car.

You have 3 days from when you leave to take another bus on the way home, dont bring any giant bags or anything on the bus, sometimes wont let u bring it on.

Also phone ahead so you have a reserved seat, since each bus has like 4-5 stops to pick people up, and they always need room on the bus

Does anyone know the policy for if you win big at seneca as a canadian citizen? I keep hearing something about 30% holding tax but I'm not sure if that's accurate. Seems really high. At what point would you have to inform the border/pay the tax or whatever on winnings?

Seneca is the worst place for Canadian residents to play a poker tournament as it has the stupid policy of withholding 30% tax on ANY winnings. It is possible for you to make it to the money but still lose as 30% of the entire min cash will be taxed away!

Almost all other US casinos will not withhold the 30% if your net winnings is below $5,000 or if you win a satellite, but Seneca will rape you no matter how small you win. It is much better for Canadian non-professionals to play in Canadian tournaments than any US tournament. Canadians who cashed big in WSOP and other US events had 30% of their winnings disappear, with nowhere enough gambling losses to offset the tax!

If you end up with $10,000 or more, you need to declare it with both US and Canadian Customs.

Coles Notes: If you're Canadian, play in Canadian tournaments with zero withholding and never play at Seneca!

That's depressing. Niagara and fallsview rarely, if ever run mtts (fallsview poker classic once a year and that's it right?). Do you ever get the 30% back, or is it just insta taken from you at the cage and never to be seen again? There's gotta be a loophole or something, that seems pretty ridiculous to me. Also when crossing the border with 10k+ is there a tax or fee or something there too, or do they just have to make a report about it?

A WPT event at Fallsview for this October was posted online, but was suddenly removed!

Legally, you need US gambling losses to get a partial or full refund. After Seneca and Las Vegas casinos screwed me with this 30% tax, I avoided US tournaments and instead made money playing in Canada, online, Dominican Republic, etc.

There is no cost just for legally reporting it. But if you fail to report it to either jurisdiction, you can get in big trouble like Brian Mulroney almost did.

Thanks a lot for the answers. Total buzzkill about that 30% thing, that is absolutely ludacris. Hopefully that fallsview wpt event ends up panning out.

Ramada Niagara Falls is probably your best choice. Its only 1 block away from Fallsview and 2 blocks away from the falls.

Its ~$100 a night

Good luck making any money, everyone buys in for the $100 at 2/5 and $200 at 5/10

So your saying you play 5/10 NL regularly but you still live with your mom and have her drive you to the casino's because you don't have a car? Hopefully you give whatever profit you have to her.

Ive prolly made about $15,000 this year there so far, but thanks prolly given a good chunk of it to her, we only got 1 car a 2011 ford escape so yea she kinda has to drive me or she wouldnt have a car all week?

trust me most people dont buyin for those min-buyin $100 and $200 numbers if you actively play there. A few fish do, always rebuying, which is great as it just constantly adds dead money to the table.

We've been playing 5-10 every Sunday and Thursday and the game usually runs from 2-closeish. Sunday we had two tables going for a few hours, the longest I've ever had to wait for a 5-10 seat was an hour and a half. Its a great game though so just throwing it out there. With a few more people we could easily have two tables running most of the night. And I havent seen a 2-5 run in the past month its been only 5-10.

But I tend to agree with you the room isn't the greatest but the floor people and dealers are awesome and its closer for me.

Agreed. I was last there early July time frame. I hit the room up everytime I'm in town 3-4 times a year. I will say this, the table is deep with several deep pockets and lose play. I have yet to be able to get to the table, I usually end up at one of the 1/2's because of the wait time. I didn't realize anyone from the room was a 2+2er. I will pm you before I head out there next.

I live in Jersey, but I'm from the Olean area. So I head up that way to see family and friends. I'm hoping to be out that way for a pig roast over labor day weekend.
