What am I not seeing? I'm missing a couple parts out of "Of course [nefarious forces] are delaying the process because of [benefits]."

Interesting article about the community response to a few of the proposals (Sands LI, Mohegan Midtown East, Chicksaw? Coney Island, and Hard Rock Citi Field)

I think this is very clearly shaping up to be Caesar's Times Square vs Hard Rock Citi Field

...if Caesar's can get the support. If not, this may already be done.
I can't say my source, but I have good intel that the Hard Rock Citi Field is almost a 100% sure thing.

I mean, it depends on several people/boards so nothing is truly a 100% "done/sure thing" but yes, I agree, it's probably in the best shape of all the proposals

I live not too far from Grand Central. With East Side Access on the LIRR, I wouldn't hate it.

I do think, though, IF either can get community approval, Caesar's or Wynn may have an advantage because of the increased revenue they will likely general vs Citi Field because of being in Manhattan near/in touristy areas, but it's a big IF.

So, we shall see! I'm excited for this stuff to start playing out already. We've waited a long time for this all just to begin working through the process

That sucks I hope your source is wrong, or that it means that the acqueduct license is somehow dead. Having two in queens makes zero sense.

I live downtown in NYC. To add credence to my claim, my source works for a major investment firm within Hudson Yards. The CEO of that firm also happens to own a major sports team... in NYC... Queens (put two and two together) -- so I am constantly hearing about both the Hudson Yards Wynn developments, and the Citi Field casino situation.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a video/digital casino in Times Square, a Wynn Casino in Hudson Yards, and Hard Rock in Queens by 2027.

I doubt the Times Square casino will have a poker room, and the Wynn Hudson Yards will offer table games, but Idk about a poker room, but Hard Rock will def have a poker room.

I mean, it's not up to him/them/whoever. There's a process. The buck does not stop with one person in the process. To say that they're the favorite, though, I would not disagree. I live downtown and am in real estate, as well.

So CET is applying for a table games license, but will only do video gaming? That makes no sense and is pure (off base IMO) speculation. Caesar's Times Square would definitely have table games if granted a license. That's kind of like, the whole point of this dog and pony show, Baxy.

Whether or not the 3rd licensee would have poker is up for debate, and I lean "yes" but am far from convinced. I don't think it's predetermined, either way, though

We’re currently waiting on the answers to the second round of questions from potential applicants. If the first round is used as benchmark, we should have the answers to the second round in April.

Once those answers go out, applications are due a month from then assuming no changes.

Then applicants will have to get community approval, those recommendations go to the actual gaming board, they have to grant the licenses, then any necessary zoning approval needs to happen.

Assuming resorts world and empire city get the licenses, optimistically we might see cards in the air before the end of 2025

Zoning first, with the CAC stage. If they can't say for sure that they'll be allowed to build what they're proposing, they won't be considered.

Today's gaming commission meeting confirming the bad news we all assumed, cards aren't hitting the air until 2026 earliest lol

That’s being optimistic, there not even going to make a decision about where to put the casinos until late 2025, if we’re lucky it’ll be sometime in 2026. Sickening all this corruption .

Sincerely doubt if there are 3 licenses only they put one in TSQ and one less than 15 blocks away in Hudson Yards

Yeah, that's definitely not happening. I think what we've though the entire time will happen, Resorts World and Empire City get #1 and #2, the third license will likely be between Citi Field, Times Square, and HY

Reading through the transcript of yesterday's meeting, the commission saying they're ahead of schedule because the revenues from licensing aren't booked until 2026, is enraging lol

Today I saw a toyota prius with NY State Gaming written on the plates. I can't remember the exact phraisng but it said NYS Gaming and it was dark blue with the orange/yellow which is the color scheme of license lates issued prior to the pandemic . For my fellow NYers that know whatTLC plates, MD plates, City vehicle plates, they know what I'm talking about. But they just need to hurry the **** up and make it happen

Check back in a year, maybe there will be some movement by then. I doubt much will happen before next year's budget, except for more behinds the scenes stuff

Especially considering they won’t be open until 2026 earlier, I would guess much closer to Encore Boston than AC rake
