I was at Hampton Sat & Sunday night...no HORSE. 1/2 PLO both nights but only ran a couple of hours till it broke up. Such a shame. Lots of guys who don't usually play it, but the 2/4 was a good game too.

Over the weekend I heard of another room opening in Salem, on 28 by the Methuen border, called Chasers I believe. I have no details, I just overheard a conversation, so it might not even be true.

Thanks for the update.

So if everything goes according to plan, what are the next steps post this meeting?

This is correct:

https://twitter.com/chaserspoker

Also, from what I have heard/read, there may be a third room as well.

Is there enough player volume to support 2 rooms? Or even 3? The last thing I would want is the action being spread too thin.

I worried about the same thing w/Twin Rivers opening near the two CT Poker Rooms...

FW now closing off their dedicated tourney area. Not sure if thats connected to less traffic or not.......but Poker seems to benefit from less saturation

Plus, we still have the Mass Casinos on the way.

Looks like the future is lots of Small Rooms vs. a few big ones.

Two or more rooms is a good thing. Foxwoods was proof that lack of competition is bad for the customer.

Also those that live 20-30 minutes away will benefit from having more than one room to choose from on any given night. Much like a night out on the town, you go where there are 10 bars next to each other rather than one good bar in isolated spot.

I'm thinking along the lines of, I'd rather have 6 tables going in 1 room than 3 tables going in each of 2 rooms. But if there will be 5+ tables going at each then that's fine.

3 rooms in Salem? Lol. Will be like 10 years ago when all the bars and social clubs in the Merrimack Valley area were spreading games. Games just wont be as soft.

Exactly, at the end of the road next to the flea market..... The dump at the Rock was bad enough, is this what the players, dealers and management would want? Mind boggling

As a player, my nose wants to bleed

Yeah the Garabedian site would be bad for sure. Garabedian probably has his fingers crossed tho since those buildings on that road have been vacant for ages. Probably since AT&T left town.

it could work for NLHE, but for PLO there's not enough players for multiple rooms, so only one would get the action.

Tourneys also work better with bigger numbers.

But, Florida has poker rooms all over the coast. Down by Hollywood they have about 5 poker rooms within a few towns of each other. So, it can work.

But, I would also rather have 1 larger room, than a bunch of smaller rooms. if the room is crap, there is still competition from Hampton Falls, Manchester, and Nashua.

Good Luck PUCK!

Thank you to all the supporters of my Cheers poker room. There were 5 other petitions heard before the 3 proposed rooms had their turn. The meeting was continued to Thursday night when they are going to debate each location. Our presentation was by far the most detailed and comprehensive by far. I did a 21 slide PowerPoint and enjoyed speaking to the public forum for an extended time. I emptied the clip,as I had suspected, we easily are the best choice. It's now in the hands of the locals.. More Thursday

Does anyone know about the new room opening in Nashua at Boston Billiards? Supposedly over 30,000sqft and looking to be high end room. rumor of November opening. Any legit details would be great.

I was at the Rock about 2 weeks ago, and was asking around about where else I could play once the Rock closed and here were the responses:

Boston Billiards Club (Nashua)
The River (Milford)
Seabrook
Hampton
Chaserspoker.com

So Puck, for whatever reason, no one there (at the PLO mix table anyways) was plugging your room, so you might want to work on your advertising.

The responses you received mention 2 rooms that aren't open yet, and omitted the closest open room to Rockingham location, Manchester. Might say more about the source than Puck's advertising. Keep in mind Puck has said he already has members on his team that bring a high level of confidence that marketing will not be an issue once room is approved.
