I'm going to be moving to Marlborough MA for work in August and I was wondering if I could get some advice on where and where not to live. I play low-limit NLHE but feel confident to play up to 5/5 PLO, and it sounds like NH has games in my range. I might generally play once or twice a week at night after work.

There is a news item on cardplayer.com that states that Wynn Boston Harbor Casino received an important environmental permit last Friday and will begin construction soon. The casino is expected to open in 2019.

Yes I'll be working in Marlborough. While Foxwoods poker is probably >>>> than NH poker, and 75mi is only > 55mi, there are other things at play.

1) that last 20 miles is a bitch to drive late at night (or early in the morning depending on your perspective) after a long poker session.
2) if I live 10 mi north of Marlborough, the numbers change to 85mi v 45mi, which compensates a lot for the poker quality difference, especially since the drive back will be less than an hour.

I'm sure I'll hit Foxwoods occasionally, but for value (commute time : playing time), NH poker is the best bet.

Of course if you live 10 mi west/southwest, then it's an even 65mi split. That's why I was asking if Marlboro is where you're working - you have flexibility on where you live. Honestly I would factor work commute traffic well above poker commute.

Yeah, if I worked in Marlborough I would want to live in Shrewsbury or Northborough, at which point you're about equidistant from Foxwoods and NH.

Or you could go south down 495 and live in Milford or Franklin or somewhere around there, which makes Twin River a possibility if you just want to play a few hours after work.

I was shocked to see how dead Hampton Falls was last night. I'm usually only there on weekends, and I know the BBJ just hit, but there was 1 table of 2-4 and 3 1-2's around 8 pm. Eventually they started a 2-4 must move. Hopefully the new room gets a lot of the Rock traffic. The Rock is 20 minutes closer, but it's such a ****hole that I try to avoid it.

I think you'll be lucky to get 1-2NL. I went a few months ago on a Saturday and there were 2 tables going in the whole place.
