I would recommend looking into LED. Much more efficient and no heat. How high are your ceilings? GL

Good for the Board of Health. Now if we can prevail upon them to get rid of the dietician, we can play some poker. Mr. ATM is right on point. BTW, do you plan on having anyone on staff that knows how to run a room and dealers that know had to deal poker? TR missed on both counts.

Of coarse.... We have been interviewing experienced general managers and will be hiring (and retaining) only very high quality dealers and staff. The room is only as good as it's staff.... Lazy, uninterested people need not apply.

We need to win and retain customers.... We are known for high customer satisfaction in all of our businesses ......it's all we know...

I live in Portsmouth and along with my current ft job have been playing/dealing cards and gambling most of my life. Looking for work closer to home and I'd be interested in something, depending on the details. Feel free to pm me.

This.

I have no argument with healthy food alternatives, but the upscale sound of the dietician aspect tells me the food will be too expensive and unappealing to the core demographic and will actually hurt the room's chance for success.

It's a poker room, not a health club or a social engineering experiment.

Hi Rich,
We will be hiring a general manager who will build a TD staff. Those folks will be hiring dealers and table staff....

Don't over read the topic..... Upscale food and poker room do not belong in the same sentence.

Expensive and unappealing food do not belong in the same sentence or in a poker room.

As for having someone that can advise on diet..... Lots of people, and even more poker players struggle with diet; many more have diabetes. There are all types of players in our room. They all need to eat. We want to be able to feed them food they CAN eat. People with diabetes are not supposed to eat fried food and a ton if other stuff... It's not hard to figure out we need to have OPTIONS for everyone...

Our corporate logo is KISS ...... If you know that slogan, it's the way we operate. All other ideas are deep mythical speculation.

I'm going to take it a step further..... We know 95% of people can eat, and will eat anything; but, if we have 1 customer that Has a special food requirement for medical, diet, allergy, or other reasons, I am 100% going to take care of that persons needs.... and having a trained professional available, who happens to be a family member be able to help that single customer, damn right we are going down that path.....

I am king of food eating and food pics, but I also understand food allergies, diabetes and special circumstances....

Puckster, how many square feet is the poker room going to be? How big is it compared to a room like, say, Mohegan Sun's poker room?

I am very interested in [reasonably] healthy alternatives without needing upscale or rabbit food. I like that Seabrook offered (haven't been there in years) salads with chicken or steak tips. Love the lobster roll at Hampton Falls. I really detest stuffing greasy calories down my throat at the rock, because the alternatives are few and far between, unless I bring my own food, or drive somewhere.

BBJ at Hampton Falls hit tonight. Hopefully this will send some traffic over to Seabrook as imo it's the better room.

Puckster, what hours do you anticipate the room will be open?

Are you still confident it will open by October of this year?

Puckster - I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way, but can you provide anything ITT to show this is actually in the works? You sound legit, but then again someone could be saying the same thing as part of a giant level on the readers of this forum. Sorry about the skepticism - hopefully you understand. Plus, if/when you do post "proof" then everyone can be all the more excited for your endeavor.

Better in that the dealers are less bad and they have comps. Also, there's the rumor about the guy who runs Hampton Falls.

Hampton Falls has more games and the AC functions better, other than that Seabrook wins imo.

Agreed. Closest I've ever come to a bbj was ~month ago when I took a seat @ 1/2 PLO, decided to throw cell phone in the rooms charging area an missed the deal. Had to sit an watch BBJ get hit then wait for IDs to be collected and everything else involved. Was PLO so it gets hit fairly often and was only @ maybe 9k-ish.

Interesting little known fact: @ Hampton falls the BBJ is in the 280-300k (or 0 as i just saw someone posted it hit tonight?) area currently iirc and they have a strange policy ive never heard before anywhere else. As long as ur blinds are current, you don't need to be dealt into or even @ the table while the BBJ hits in order to get a table share. As long as it's before missing your first blind, ur in it. Strange no?

Easier attained promos more frequently > BBJ IMO

Unfortunately rockingham super close to me (MA) and I'm a reg over there in 1/2 2/4, no 2/5 in NH I'm aware of. I see numerous familiar faces daily and have been for quit some time. Action is only positive thing about the place, but there's deff some decent 2/4 regs that play 2/5 @ twin on weekends. Plenty of "pros" there. It's no AC I'm sure but it's only NH and NL only been available for a year or so.

Yeah me neither, plz do tell. I met the owner the first night I ventured up there to check out the room. Mainly cuz 4 consecutive sessions per week @ rockingham is unsustainable and -EV in terms of general happiness. Anyway the guy seemed pleasent/friendly enough. He even faked a chuckle when he thought I was making a bad joke when i voiced my only complaint when asked for my opinion on the room. I told him ****ty cards. He thought I was referring to running bad, when in fact I meant the quality of the cards was ****. Think those cheap, flimsy plastic blue an red poker chips sold at the dollar store or whatever, but the card equivalent. Nut low. Has improved a little since.

Smuckers (?)

I heard some old guy @ the table last night telling his friend about a room opening in Salem that was gonna have these "****ing machines IN THE TABLES that shuffles the cards!! Omgwtf, what a world!!" Was pretty funny. Ur tables gonna have auto shufflers?

No, especially after seeing it before I deleted it.

Guys don't forget we have a privacy rule in the forum. No spreading gossip about people, etc. Even though this subforum is low content this rule still applies.
