You should have treadmills instead of seats. Hard to read the carotid when it is always thumping.

I think we are getting punk'ed here!!! I actually hope we are cause those might be the 2 dumbest things to ever be put in a poker room... have you seen the life degens that play in these rooms??? I don't think any of them would know a treadmill if it ran them over!!!

So you're actually telling us it's gonna be a Poker Room + Planet Fitness hybrid? That's... different.

Corrected Ingrish:

Our new room is not in a restaurant ...

Our room will have a deli with freshly made sandwiches, salads. Bagels and egg sandwiches .
Our room will not have fried food or junk food. Going to be fresh made healthy food.

A nutritionist will be on our staff. The nutritionist will help players with specific diet programs as well as those with medical diet issues.

Our kitchen will prepare diet specific food for those players (and staff) that want to participate.

We are planning to have a couple of high end bikes and treadmills for those that want to use them.

These are simple amenities that are only a small part of our plan for a great piker room.

No.... We happen to have fitness and nutritionist professionals in the family, so they are going to offer up a FREE side benefit for those that would like assistance.

Those treadmills and bikes will make great meta coat racks.

Prob also be good for a couple/few prop bets along the way too.

You are not having a dedicated nutritionist on staff either, just stop. Maybe a girl that makes sandwiches and worked for a CSA a couple summers, sure.

Breathe easy, keep it simple 27...... Family are nutritionist .... Easy amenity to offer and follow thru on.. Most full time poker pros have finally caught on to the importance of diet and exersize.... Providing the service is a natural for those that would like to use it.

And so far as the exersize equipment .... C'mon man... You really think we are spending real money and are going to let any of our equipment and facility to be abused?

TBH I don't want a bunch of amenities that will draw in full time poker pros.

Are there any full time poker pros in NH?

It may sound crazy, but trust me getting on a bike or treadmill every 60-90 will be a net positive for your game and your overall poker life. You don't have to go crazy on the thing, but a nice light workout for a few minutes will work wonders.
I've noticed that I make significantly more money when I get up regularly and power walk in/around Foxwoods instead of sitting down at a table for hours. It's easy to do at Foxwoods with so much space inside and outside. This guy's salem venue likely won't have that luxury, so his plan definitely sounds exciting to me!

There's nothing much worse for your health than sitting for hours. All poker players could use a little exersize......

*this actually could be a conspiracy......to get me finally exercising ... Lol

I don't disagree at all. You were the one who brought up full time poker pros, I was just piggybacking off your comment.

No one here thinks that sounds crazy.

Spending money on equipment that no one will use, and floor space that will return $0 revenue? A little unusual, let's just say.

You know why every cardroom in the world has deep fried food? Because that's what people want to eat! I don't know anything about running a business, but "saying no to what the customers want" sounds like something you learn to avoid in Business School. "Class, open your books to Page One..."

Puckster says getting vetted for this has been a long, exacting process. While he sees these variations as exciting, I imagine the committees find them disturbing. "Do we really want to award this precious license to someone who doesn't seem to know the first thing about running a business?"

Don't get me wrong, Puckster. I'm rooting for you. The more legal gambling in this world, the better, IMO. When that happens, freedom wins. When I fly home to visit family in Methuen, I love playing cards, and always find it annoying that convenient Rockingham offers such a ****ty product that I'd have to drive to Seabrook or HF.

But you're an innovator, and those guys are always scoffed at. Prove us wrong. Again, I'm rooting for you.

It's great that you're going to provide this as a service. Having healthy options on the menu will be appreciated by a portion of your customer base. But a lot of them are going to want hamburgers, pizza, and fried foods. If you don't provide it, you're saying no to money.

could be correct........

editors note: no one, and I mean no one......... loved McDonald's more than this guy

...... prob taking another look at these items and add something on a small scale.

Interesting tidbit that folks miss/do not know about.........is the "build-out" that goes with fried food and grill. Outside of the the ventilation hood, and ansel system, the enhanced style kitchen crushes the HVAC system with make-up air, air exchange and both heating and cooling. Amazing upgrade in size and expense.

For a poker room/small casino with low volume, the revenue from fried food sales could never make up the expense of increased infrastructure and operational expense.

btw.... author has owned a few and built more than 20 food establishments, bars, and bakeries..........

ahhhh...the brass tacks.......

if you know anything about NH poker and the "charity" poker laws along with the state rake, you would know the rake is pretty much set.

There is no better deal in the country than the rake the charities get with every poker room in NH. NONE. Not Federal Taxes, Not State Taxes. NADA.

The current structure is so lucrative for the state and charities, its a major road block in getting "real" casino's approved.

We know that going in, those are the rules and laws in place..... gotta play the hand we are dealt.

In regards to the Bad Beat Jackpots.... give me your thoughts... The majority of people seem to love it; only the "pros" seem to not like the extra buck coming out of the pot. Overall, if all the rooms have it, and since the overall majority of players are not "pros", not having it would probably put the room at a competitive disadvantage... thoughts?
