**** that sucks. I want a decent sized tournament to play in....otherwise I may as well play cash. Also this $100 of the $250 buy is a bounty. I love me a bounty but that seems pretty out of whack to me.

That being said, I'll be hitting Rockingham anyway tomorrow.

it will be the weekend, who knows maybe it will play. I think someone posted that a tournie did not start because it didn't have enough players so they broke it up into a few sit n go's

I've played in 100/100 Bounty tournaments. It's kind of crazy, but it can be very profitable if you understand how to adjust your strategy against opponents who play it just as they would any other MTT.

I dealt one once. Only 23 entrants. When I pushed in, three players remained.

"Anyone still stuck?", I asked.

The two short stacks raised their hands.

They both got busted by the big stack on the next hand.

Someone was talking about the Rock rules last night and said you could only buy in for X(I forget X), but then after every hand you can load $150 more onto your stack.
Guys would buy in, sit down, then load $150 onto their stack after every hand for an orbit or two and then be sitting on 2K.

Haha, okay then...

I made it to the Rock on Saturday for that effing tournament! I donked out pretty early. My own stupidity/impatience. I had a couple of the WORST players at my table and it was frustrating because they were giving away chips, being in every hand and bluffing almost as many.

I was pretty card dead until I woke up with QQ and the horrible player raising preflop.
The flop was J-x-x rainbow. He bet big, I raised bigger and he jammed all in. This was I was too excited to take his chips and bounty and I called. He had **** in every other hand he'd played but this time? He flopped trips with JJ. I was shortstacked. I still could've come back, I've done it before but I was hangry, no patience and shoved a few hands later. 3 peeps called sniffing after my bounty and it was gg for me.

FWIW There were "enough" runners. 3 tables w/alternates made it 39 players.

Then I played cash.

Now I played cash there once since July 1, and man was it hopping then. There were 3, yes 3, PLO games running that time. THIS time however, there was one PLO table. I played there for about 3 hours. Fun and profitable. I ended up switching to NLHE after playing 5 handed for about a half hour and after I left the table closed down and stayed that way.

There was plenty of NLHE though. I headed over there with a ton of chips from PLO and found out the stupidest rule about the buy in. I could only put $150 on the table. Okay, I did that and stuffed the other chips in my pockets.

I was playing away and later found out that you can ALSO put $150 on the table during your second hand as well, regardless of the first $150 in front of you. WTF kind of sense is that? What's the point?

You mean the 2/4NL game rules that was approved by The Gaming Commission once submitted following the passing of the bill? What is it exactly that is obvious Mr. Troll?

It's different that's for sure and the result of when billmakers don't have a clue about the game of poker. Essentially it's an Uncapped buy-in but you can't buy in all at once lol. It's been discussed heavily here since beginning of July.

I've been seeing more and more Foxwoods players at the Rock. I have been going to the Rock instead of my usual trip to Foxwoods. I'm wondering if Foxwoods is drawing less players.

I heard from a reliable source (floor guy) that the 2-4 NL game at the Rock will be capped at a $750 max buy in as of September 1

900 or 1200 (1050 is just weird). i'm sure they chose a multiple of 150 for the obvious reason.

Wynn has received approval from the environmental affairs secretary. This was a big obstacle.

I heard this from the floor guy last night. He said they "might" do it Sept 1st but not to hold him to that.

I was at The Rock last night. Good action and lots of tables going, but the huge wait lists of the first month are dying down already.

I can't quite tell -- are there more dealers and it's just more well-run now, or are less people going already?

Could be a combination of both.

Yeah, I got seated at the 'must-move' 2-4 NLHE table immediately when I got there around 7pm Saturday. That table was incredibly fishy. People would sit down, blow 500 or more then walk away in an orbit or two. I was at that table for about 40 minutes, then moved to a longer running table. There were plenty of tables at that limit and the room was full most of the night.

How much are the charities receiving now compared to the mtt and limit days?

I seem to remember they used to advertise the previous months total at seabrook

Rockingham seemed a little lighter in terms of players in August as opposed to July, but the place was mobbed last night, which is a good sign. Tons of tables and pretty big wait lists most of the night.

Medium sized crowd this pm at Rock. 1/2 game is getting tougher (or maybe I am playing worse) than when they first opened.
