While I'm in the mood to post ill vent a bit. I get sick of the rake complaints. any where that runs smaller stake tourneys has a comparable rake. The. State requires no rake to be less than twenty percent. Most foxwoods tournaments under two hundred rake the same and have a three percent fee for tournament administration whatever that is. I hope it all goes to the dealers but I'm not sure it used to say it was for dealers. If you read poker magazines some properties would be thrilled to have 120 players every Friday night for the150 bounty. We hit prize pools everyday that casinos advertise as guarentees in card player and the fields are very soft.I wish more people would give it a try. Its no frills but there is money to be made.

Rick, curious what are they raking on the limit games? I went there once or twice probably 5 years ago and can't remember.

I thought Rockingham said they were shutting down, last time the casino bill failed to pass. Wasn't that like a year ago?

Do you think they'll spread plo?

Do dealers still split tips?

Got an email from the River in Milford NH yesterday saying $1/2 NL coming soon. No mention of exactly when or what the rake would be. Also, no mention of PLO.

I heard there will be PLO. I also heard $10 rake, $1 for every 10 up to $100. "But the games are gonna be so good"

I like the idea of raking $10/hand in PLO. Half should go to the dealer, for putting with SSPLO players.

When in the history of capitalism has high demand led to lower prices?

If this is truly what the people who run the room say, they're idiots.

Don't understand these last two posts. Rockingham is already the busiest room in the state by far. When the bad beat was 90k we were running 13 limit tables. It goes to reason with no limit it will be even busier than that. If the last factor between a drive to another room is the rake adjustments can be made. Don't Know why that's idiotic. That's good business.

Rick do you work at Rockingham? You keep referring to the room as "we".

I'm not trolling, I'm genuinely curious: has any poker room ever reduced the rake because after getting busier? If it truly is good business, it would have happened before, but I'm not familiar with any such thing ever happening.

If your tables aren't full because of competition from the place down the street, dropping the rake might be good business.

Please explain to me why it would make good business sense to drop the rake if your tables are full.

I do work there. Poker players have many options. If players drive to Hampton or foxwoods And dont come to our room that is zero rake. Lets face it foxwoods is a much nicer property with comps and table games. Poker players love a low rake. Its one of the most complained about topics. As I said earlier if people come for the most games in nh and we are doing well maybe more will come for the lower rake. Until the law is passed and we see how business is we have decided to leave the rake alone. Its always easier to go down than up and upset every one. If we had thirteen limit tables for 2 4 limit who knows how many people will come for no limit. I can't wait to find out.
