I didn't get one either. Took me 5 hours to get home from work. Last thing on my mind was picking up a ticket.

Globe article about MS Revere

Quote:
The tribe’s designers are drawing plans for a $1 billion gambling resort on about 40 acres of land belonging to Suffolk Downs. Details are in flux, but the early thinking calls for about 4,000 slot machines, 100 table games, and a 20-table poker room, Etess said.

I agree probably need to double that # or it will be wait list city

For table games it should be enough at 100, but poker? Not nearly enough

that would be such a horrible horrible idea. CT has like 42 tables and I don't even think that will be enough for the Boston area casino. Not only cash games but the casino could support some pretty big tournaments as well on a regular basis.

Don't forget, NH isn't going to stay on the sidelines forever. In fact, they may STILL get a joint opened before MA. No sense building a 50-table room in MA if competition is on the way.

Still think a 50-60 table room would do just fine especially if they have some success with tournaments also.
Foxwoods on weekends uses around 60 cash tables and and anywhere around 12-25 tournament tables upstairs

I think they need to atleast keep it the same size as their CT room. Pretty sure Rockingham could fill 20 tables of people playing their ****ty limit games on a weekend. I think a Boston area casino would crush the traffic we see in the CT casinos.

There is no doubt they could probably even outdo Foxwood's current traffic if they put a serious commitment to poker. Having T access is an incredible asset. Unfortunately, they will probably handle it just like they do in CT and have poker as just an afterthought.

We should know by now casinos don't give a damn about poker. I'll be surprised if they have any tables

What casino is poker not an after thought

Of course, however some better casinos do actually put a decent focus on poker. It is an afterthought for all casinos, but more so for some than others. I am hoping Mohegan at least tries to take advantage of their location and dedicate the resources to make their poker room #1. This would probably require at least 70 tables for cash and tournaments. If they plan to go with less than 40, it's just going to be a room but nothing special.
Poker is and afterthought at Borgata, but at least they have shown a commitment to it, and they are successful.

Looks more like 17%

"Under the revenue-sharing agreement detailed in the compact, the Mashpee would pay the state 21 percent of casino revenue if there are no commercial casinos anywhere in Massachusetts, or 17 percent if the proposed tribal casino is the only gambling facility in southeastern Massachusetts. The state’s share would drop to 15 percent if a slots parlor opens in the region.

If another casino opens in southeastern Massachusetts, the state would collect nothing from the proposed tribal casino."

Thanks. I read something a year or so ago at what they are attempting with respect to getting land in trust without federal recognition has never been approved and typically dies on the vine.

Mass Gaming Commission released the public portions of the final applications today. I dug through them looking for confirmation of the proposed poker plans.

Mohegan: conflicting info

this link says 20 tables - https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wkascadjn...e%20Legend.pdf

this link implies 12 -

if anybody can help reconcile this please do.

MGM: 25 tables
