Yea, I just didn't realize getting a structure & payout sheet for a tournament BEFORE the 1st hand is dealt was such an ordeal.

Hoped for a speck of customer service. They do, after all, earn profit in these rooms.

When/If we ever get close to a poker room in Boston, I hope they get someone to do what the poker room manager at the yet unopened Arundel MD room is doing. Getting his face out here to answer or at least listen to what the players want. And if there is a suggestion that isn't going to happen in the room, he explains why not.

So a charity poker room is running a charity tournament? That's double charity, right?

At that point, all your technical questions are moot. What's the difference if it's the greatest structure ever devised? It's still unplayable to anyone nitty enough to worry about the structure!

So as awful as keno is EV-wise, when I hang out at local bars I'll sometimes play. Usually 4 numbers on a 5-play at $2 each. I've *never* hit all 4 (which pays 100-1). Tonight I went through my 5-play, and was spending a lot more time there, so did another one. Well due to the delay of making the 2nd play happen, 1 game goes off in between which I have no play on. Of course, all 4 numbers hit. #$@#%$@%^@$^@#

That's because the #'s get fed into the computer 1st, scanned, then a non-issued "winning" # is generated. Only a State Government could get away with such a game.

My buddy blinked a 5 number ticket the other day with a 10x multiplier. Kid runs so good at keno and scratch tickets.

Any word on Twin River changing their mind and starting up a room?

No one playing VP there and hearing third-hand talk?

No innocent rumor dropping by a pit boss while playing blackjack?

Anything? Bueller? ...Bueller?

When I first moved to Vegas, I was attracted to keno, and played a six-spot ticket while dining. After a couple years of this and never coming close to winning anything, I gave it up.

Seven years later, after walking past tens of thousands of keno drawings while working/playing in casinos (and glancing at the board each time to see if my numbers hit), I left town. I had seen my six numbers lit exactly once in all that time.

BTW, speaking of my trip home, all the New England-based YouTalkFattie followers from OtherOtherTopics and Health&Fitness are planning a get-together in Boston sometime that week (most likely Saturday Sept 14, or maybe Sunday Sept 15; there's no Pats game that weekend, they play the Thursday Night game against the Jets that week). All of you guys are invited. And if the Merrimack Valley crowd would rather do a separate one closer to home, I'm up for that, too.

I work there and haven't heard anything, even from management.

Something came across my Facebook feed earlier today from the MA gaming commission with regards to the phase 1 approval for the slot license. Raynham Park passed phase 1 approval, Plainridge denied.

This may have to do with the first step in the process of a vote by the town to allow such an enterprise, I recall in a local paper that the Town of Raynham did that a few weeks back, as did Everett.

Probably no town vote yet in Plainville is my guess.

Nah, it was a former officer taking over $1 million dollars and not accounting for it correctly. Commission voted 5-0 to deny phase 1. They are done.

Raynham has their community vote next week; the 15th or 16th. Pretty sure they will get slots unless Penn National gets VERY lucky, i.e. hits the superfecta.

Are there any decent? Not really. Those are the best options by far. New Hampshire has charity poker rooms all over that are okay if you are playing for fun. The cash games are limit only and the tournies are higher rake.

Mass also has some charity games all it they are less advertised. Not really worth going OT of the way for those.

Maine got a casino or two I believe one in Bangor and I think in Portland. Never been to either.
