I haven't played in NH in a few months but I'm aware that the rake @ BBC is now $5+$3 but does anyone know the rake structure/status at the other NH rooms?

Did Chasers and the Brook follow suit after BBC? When are the jackpot drops taken... Are all $3 taken at once like when the pot reaches $20 or is it at different increments?

Do they need to get approval from the state before they can do that or is it at their own discretion?

You have to wonder if they saw Encore getting away with $10 rake and figured $8 would still seem cheap...

Yah chasers went up to $8. Not sure exactly when they take the promo but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Sadly I can tolerate the encore right now cause gas is so expensive and there is zero commute for me. Plus free drinks and the room itself is pleasant to be in. Chasers badly needed a room upgrade and I think it’s gonna suffer again when the encore extends hours.

What is Foxwoods and Mohegan rake?

I’m thinking of heading there when I feel like playing Friday/Saturday.

Rake in CT is $5-$1. Best deal in NE IMO when you also combine the fact that they give better/more usable comps.

The rake/promo increases in NH over the last year have put quite a few people off.

BBC promoting “$5 max rake” is very sketchy.

BBC collects their $3 “promo drop” (in addition to the $5 rake) during all hours of operation. However, the promos are only available during specific hours.

For example, the high hand promo isn’t available on Saturday and the Saturday high hand promo only runs from 3-11pm. But, they collect the $3 promo drop from open to close.

During 5.5 hours of operation on Saturday they are collecting a $3 promo rake for promotions that aren’t even available.

NH has seemingly priced itself out of the game for me.

Going forward CT will be my first choice, Encore second choice and NH a distant third.

Any truth to the story that the Twin Spires purchase of Chasers is a dead deal?

I hadn't heard that the deal was dead. I did hear that the town of Salem will take up Chaser's request to move to the former K-Mart next door. Most think that will be approved.

If it is, expect more tables, slots and maybe even a 2nd bathroom !

I realize Chasers is booming but I wonder if the increased rake will have an effect. My guess is it won't given that Encore is raking more and Ct is a bit of a drive for us close to Encore and southern NH

how does one get rooms for poker play only? i am a usa noob but was led to believe that stuff doesn't exist

I went down on a Friday and Saturday and played a few long sessions and had free rooms offers for during the week. Haven’t been in months but I did notice the summer you get less. I’m planning on putting in some hours to get the rooms back in the fall hopefully. It wasn’t hard at all for me but who knows exactly how that all works

If you play decent length sessions on a semi consistent basis you will usually get Sunday through Thursday nights comped most weeks of the year... the offers may get a bit lean during holiday weeks (ie school vacation weeks, Christmas-New Years week etc) but most weeks you'll get weeknight rooms offers.

Poker play alone will not get you comped weekend rooms... at least I've never heard of such a thing happening... If you play at a decent level in the pits or slots along with your poker play then you may open up weekend offers.

I have a nyc zipcode and I’m convinced it factors into the generous offers I receive from Foxwoods. I told them I can go to PA rooms like Parx or AC rooms like the borg, so if they want me there I need comped rooms!

Yes! And better to spread, say, 15 hours of play over two days rather than three. Get your daily average up as high as possible.
