I am planning on doing a comparison of all rooms in NE: games spread, rake, reward program, max buy-ins, comfort, etc. That would be nice to have, especially when the Encore opens. Since I do not want to redo something that already exist, please let me know if you already saw such kind of document. If not, I'll get to work and probably ask a few questions on this thread. cheers.

literally came here just now to request an update to the OP post about the rooms and was thinking how nice it'd be if they listed what spread how and where

I'm relocating back to the US after a decade in Asia and looking to hit up the poker rooms pretty hard - will be starting off back in New England

I imagine it's pretty different than Macau, haven't played in US since Foxwoods as a teen with a fake ID

from Western Mass, like the real Western Mass, Berkshire County but primarily going to be bouncing back and forth between NYC, Boston and Maine

I'll be more than happy to update the OP if someone wants to put in the work and put something together.

Not sure if it is up to date and accurate for every place, but Poker Atlas lists games offered with buy-in.

I am still trying to come up with a good template. What do you think about this:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

What other type of info would you like to see in it?

(The information in there is totally fake, for test purposes)

You can probably eliminate that room.

Rhody made a good joke turning your 'cheers' at the end of the post into a reference of the now defunk poker room Cheers. It was a knock against the room, not you.

It was a good joke like six months ago. But being from Rhode Island I imagine he's always a little behind.

As a Californian who grew up in Leominster, I'd love to see the comparison of N.E. poker rooms updated.
I think you can exclude the staff opinions ...."rude", incompetent, low-energy, not motivated, etc. (I know, I'm embellishing) But these are opinions, and they belong in an opinion format (like this one) but not in an overall comparison analysis.
This may also lead to more and not less interaction from room representatives- just provide the straight news and let the customers provide the opinions in the proper format.

Good point. I removed this row and will only mention in "comfort" if the waiting lists are handled properly or not.
Working on completing the Google sheet. It takes time as I have to dig for information and ask about the rake, reward program and all on forums. Stay put (or help finding the info!).

You could call/email/pm each room to make sure you have accurate info rather than relying on 2+2 replies...

On PokerAtlas, Encore is showing NL games up to 50-100. What’s the highest NL stakes you think that get played there today? How many overall poker tables you think get filled at once?

Chasers has had about 8-11 tables going most of the day. Considering it’s a beautiful summer day and Encore had its opening day, I think that bodes well for them.

I think Chaser's will still be hosting good constant games.
Perhaps the long wait lists will disappear, but, it's still good games in a convenient location, with easy and free parking.

It's funny that a lot of people think places like Foxwoods and Mohegan and others are doomed with the opening of Encore.

Most people will still visit their closest casino. Of course most will venture a trip to a new venue, but why make a 2 hour drive if you have a casino 20 minutes away ?

I'm 15 miles from Encore but I'll still visit Chasers and Boston Billiards. Also,
I just got 2 free tickets to a Mohegan concert in July with a free room offer from Foxwoods on that night. So, I'll still hit those locations when it makes sense.

So, yes, Encore will put a dent in business at Ct casinos but I think they'll be fine in the long run.
