I’m impressed by what Seabrook is doing. The remodeling they’ve done so far looks good, the new poker chairs and tables look good as well, they seem very good on social media too — nice looking and well-written ads.

I’m really curious to see how they do going forward.

I suppose if they get Sports betting they'll survive, but with Hampton down the street and Encore opening soon, I'm skeptical. Not to mention all those NH rooms keep one upping each other with the high hand promo's. What's next? High hands every 10 minutes? Doesn't seem sustainable.

Rake is increased by $1 to feed into high hand promos. I would assume the players are paying enough rake to feed the HH payouts to the point where the room isn’t take a loss on the high hand days.

I didn't mean sustainable in a monetary way. It's the players money after all (even though a lot of rooms phrase it as 'giving away'). I mean that eventually it will be 15 min high hands 24/7. You have a room full of 1-2 with a $7 rake day after day? People will feel it eventually.

How many people do you think are even minimally rolled for 5/10 PLO among the local player base? I"m guessing pretty close to zero. It's a good way for Chasers to bust their players.

Buggsy was playing 5/10 Friday night. They told me there was a seat open for me, but I chickened out. 1/3 PLO gets pretty big, pretty quickly. I cannot imagine 5/10.

But damn, NL/PLO mix sounds like fun; the best of both worlds.

I'm pretty sure Boston Billiards has split NL/PLO run on weekends, and at the slightly more palatable 2/5 stake. Or at least they did when I was there last, which admittedly was several months ago.

Josie hit the nail on the head, not for the faint of heart. I have played it 2x now on Saturday and Monday. Such a fun time, good mix of absolute degeneracy with very good play. The no limit portion isnt just fold until the plo round like a see a lot with big bet mixes. There is a lot of battling, and, as such, expect to see north of 50k on the table, there was about 70k on Saturday and 65k on monday with plenty of 5-10k stacks.

I highly doubt most of the players in that room have anywhere near the 50-100k liquid I'd expect you would need to be adequately rolled for this game, especially considering how aggro it always seems to be.

I was talking poker with a guy the other day and said I would guess 1-2% of people around here are properly rolled for their level, including 1/2.
