Snowman and 413, you guys either don't have Puck on social media or haven't ever been to Cheers.
False Claim - Chasers had the "local hookup" and was able to open faster/keep Puck from opening. Chasers actually received their local permits after Cheers (public record). Furthermore, Puck himself posted more than once before he opened that his difficulty in getting open had to do with being on a state highway and the additional red tape from the state (NOT local) government that brought whereas Chasers opened on a city street and thus didn't have to get as many approvals.
And fake news is the best defense you can come up with? I wanted Cheers to succeed, I liked Chasers better but I believe in competition and I enjoy the occasional tournament and Let It Ride so Cheers was where I expected to play those, so I have no reason to lie.
And this stuff is all over the internet. All the staff he screwed over have posted repeatedly online. And if he was some great boss and the room has been "busy" since reopening as he has repeatedly claimed in his posts, then why didn't those staff return when he reopened? Why would I show up to play expecting 3 tables and a list according to Poker Atlas only to find a single table, no list, with other tables signed in as guest to make it look full?
I was one of the players who asked the manager why they had a sign up for one rake on the front door while they were dropping a different rake at the table and the answer given was "why do you care, the extra is going to the player fund not the house rake, it goes back to you guys." Great answer. I also couldn't take a roulette payout with overs, if I wanted any of my winnings in cash chips I had to cash out completely and wait an hour to play again. And I personally spoke with the guy who "has a roulette system"
and writes the numbers down who Puck told he couldn't do that if he wanted to play there, so he was playing at Chasers.
He still insults his customers (few that are left). Just this week Matthew Soleyn, one of the few Cheers cheerleaders left pointed out errors in an advertising post Puck made in the Poker In Massachusetts group. Did Puck respond with gratitude and fix the errors? No, he jumped on the guy and started insulting his education and qualifications.
If you need proof of the gaming commission violations, as someone pointed out they are public record and easily found. Puck put himself down as the landowner. When the commission found out he wasn't the landowner, they told him to resubmit the forms. The landowner refused to cooperate with Puck (who knows why, rumors were that Puck hadn't paid the rent in months and that the landowner couldn't pass the state background checks because of old crimes) and so the place got closed. The other issues (failing to file reports, failing to keep video records) were all in the gaming commission's release which was available through the Eagle Tribune. The judgement against him from Platinum Protection Services is through Essex County Superior Court, again searchable online (and the plaintiff posted pictures of his filing last year in the NH Poker News Forum). And what about my statements that someone who's worked in construction should have known what to look for as far as bad roofs go or have contacts who could fix it ASAP?
"Puck wouldn't kneel to the poker community"
You mean his customers? He's not our parent or ruler and we're not his. He wants our business and from day one he's made mistake after mistake and his pride has kept him from stepping aside and having someone professional step in. What mistakes? Opening with the highest rake in the state for starters. Spending huge amounts on carved oak table legs that everyone hated but going cheap on chairs - (CHAIRS! probably the first complaint or compliment you'll hear any player offer when talking about a room!!!) And then the items mentioned above. Attacking people online, taking cheap shots at the competition (encouraging his staff to do the same), false advertising, all of it.
I saw days where Chasers had 100+ on their wait yet a few miles down the road Cheers had only one or two tables. Why weren't any of those players waiting willing to go down the street? Because of Puck. Why do I choose to drive 30 minutes to Hampton to play tournaments instead of Cheers? Because of Puck. You guys seem too dedicated to Puck to be just customers, if you're his friend perhaps you should try to get it through his head that what's wrong with his business is him rather than just padding his ego and spreading his conspiracy theories.
