I think the argument of a bbj not being paid back into the poker economy is theoretically correct, but I just don’t think it’s impact in real life is enough to effect anyones actual profitability. At least in any meaningful way. I say which ever promo brings the most casual players in would outweigh the problem of money leaving.

There’s always nine people ready to sit at the table against you with rebuys in their pockets. There will be for years to come, bbj or not. I think people overestimate this idea of money staying in the poker community.

Red felt! Damn that sounds horrible

Chair color is ugly AF, but the seats are very comfy. The red felt is absolutely awful

They also have two serve yourself drink machines with all different types of sodas and stuff in the poker room. I saw a few of these machines throughout the casino

I know this isn’t very important, but as someone who has worked as a graphic designer and enjoy the aesthetics of things, I have to vent and rant... why the f!!! can’t a casino design some decent g!d d!m chips!!!!!! It drives me nuts!
I don’t really like the red felt but you can make a case for it, I wouldn’t argue against someone liking it. But can’t they just do better all together? For all the millions spent, they should think to have a design firm put together a look for the chips and tables. I don’t think the cards are an option for them but those too if they could.
I agree the chips are better looking than foxwoods but really, any decent design student could put together a better look. I suspect they use an in-house designer working for the chip supplier. Every time a room opens, I’m disappointed. I never mention it because I know it’s trivial but it feels good to get off my chest. There, I feel a little better now

I thought Chasers eliminated the button straddle because too many players weren't comfortable with it.

But imo mostly confusion for novices.

Love the poker room, chairs are so comfortable but can be annoying if you get up often like I do, they're a little too big I think. Dealers have been rough, none of the shufflers were working so when you couple that with the dealers being generally slow and inexperienced it slows the game down. One kid didn't even know the straddle rules. Itll take some time to start running smoothly but I look forward to playing there considering it's a 2 minute drive from my house.

The gaming compact required them to hire the vast majority of people locally. Since this is the first casino in the region, it is no surprise to see a lack of initial experience. Hopefully they become good.

On a side note, two of my employees went through the dealer school but did not make it through the audition process. That indicates to me that MGM had plenty of applicants and were able to hire the better of them, as opposed to desperately hire whoever filled out the papers!

Speaking as someone who has never worked as a graphic designer, as a poker player having a bright red felt with bright red chips is something you should receive an F for in any college introductory design course while a caring professor could use the opportunity as a coaching moment. Good grief.
