Boston Traffic is already a nightmare, so even an insignificant increase at peak times means gridlock.

OTOH, I'd expect the casino to run shuttles to some MBTA stations.

If I built something like this I would want it to have it's own T stop!

Whoever's running Hampton seems to be smart and adaptable. If there's a path to survival, they'll find it.

Heard a rumor that the 5-10 NL game at MGM Springfield will be uncapped. Guess we'll find out in less than a week.

I wonder what the rake structure will be at Wynn? I hope its better than Foxwoods B.S. taking $2 on the flop.

That could change the PLO dynamic if that's the case. Beats me tho as the games are super deep at chasers.

They have a nice area sectioned off for high stakes games which will be enticing for those interested.

They seem to have adapted pretty well when they lost their lease at Seabrook. That would have finished most folks.

Hey, the Wynn poker rep is here!

Anyone want to bet he bails on this thread by Christmas, once he sees there's no pleasing you guys? And that you represent about 0.0001% of his customer base?

He's the rep for Wynn in Las Vegas not the one opening up in Everett, just FYI. He doesn't speak for this room.

Boston traffic has been a nightmare lately, I honestly think it's getting worse. Trying to get to this room on a weekend will probably be insanely frustrating.

And let's remember there's no charity skim at Wynn. You'll get real comps, and a much lower rake. And when you beaten up at PLO, you have a blackjack table steps away that will let you bet whatever the @#$# you want.

And whoever said they'd rather drive from the boston area up to Salem NH on a friday than go to Everett is insane. 93N is stop and go all the way up on most fridays.
Agree with everything above. Also MA casinos will be 24 hours, which is huge. Not to mention they will serve Alcohol till 4am, which should make the games banannas into the wee hours of the morning.

I'm an avid PLO player and I know Chasers has good action, but I'm saving my hour+ drives to real casinos that will be open 24 hrs and have real comps with hotels on site.

Springfield should be very good and they sent me room offers, but I'm going to wait about a month before going because I think it will be pure chaos and they won't have enough tables early on. The brightside is MGM management isn't stupid. They aren't Twin River. My guess is they'll add tables immediately once they realize the demand far outweighs their current supply. I had friends at the soft opening who said it was a total zoo and I expect very long wait times early on.

Wynn will be the be all, end all of poker rooms and be far superior to everything else in New England. But that's still close to a year away and in the mean time Springfield should be awesome. First poker room in Mass run by a good company. Looking forward to it.

Orange Line, Assembly (Row). There is a proposed $25M pedestrian bridge across the Mystic River dam. Or Wellington.

Re: New England General Discussion - Poker Room List in OP

Is anyone going to start a MGM Springfield thread?

Also I want to get a mix game going at MGM. Probably two months from now. I fugure it's going to be a zoo once it opens. Let things settle a bit. I know that most MGM properties carry $3 chips, I wouldn't mind a $9 -$18. But we'll see what kind of denominations they have firts.

Someone started a Hype thread but everyone just posts here instead. Someone can start an official thread once it opens... not before.

Bizarre that MGM opens in two days and there is no information on the poker room anywhere. Their own website doesn’t even offer any information.
