Where can one find this on FB? Direct me in the general direction. Both these rooms need to just mind their business and let the rooms speak for themselves.

Apparently an 18-year old dealer wearing a Chasers shirt went to Cheers yesterday after Chasers got their power back on, sat in a game, and immediately informed the players at the table that Chasers now had power and games were up and running. Players began picking up and Puck ran over to videotape the end of the scene, and accused Chasers of unethical activities. The kids father denies that is what occurred.

Good stuff lol.

He's been using his security footage in an attempt to publicly shame players on Facebook. Yes, they work for other rooms but plenty of dealers play at rooms other than their own without incident. I've seen his employees playing at Chasers. And better yet, the stories he's been using to justify this ridiculous behavior are either greatly exaggerated or flat out lies. The way I heard it, the guy who supposedly "sat down and announced Chasers is open" did no such thing. He sat, a player saw the shirt and asked if they were open, and he answered.

In all the businesses I've worked or managed - restaurants, retail, cinemas, etc - I've seen plenty of customers ejected, trespassed, and/or banned. I've never once seen any of those businesses airing their dirty laundry in the open the way this guy is.

I think he's his own worst enemy and not too bright when it comes to dealing with people.

There's zero justification for that kind of behavior and cheers will never get my patronage. Does this to a nice kid.

Puck is one of a kind.

How does this work, seems too complicated. Seems like they are raking more than 20%.

NH poker is a gift that keeps on giving. That is some of the most out of line **** I've ever seen. Obviously Puck thought he was going to be the king of the poker world. Remember, he's traveled all over the world playing poker guys. He's basically what I would call threatening this kid. Borgata of the North?

One thing instilled in me in the poker world and more so the larger gambling world is we have our own ethics and codes. Puck is a straight up ***** for even making a comment like that and putting someone out on the internet. I've never met him but I am comfortable saying he's an ignorant old man whose ego has been badly bruised and he's reacting with the emotional capacity of a toddler.

I'm usually found at Chasers with a smile on my face fwiw.

Maybe a West Side Story type showdown is needed here? We can all dance down whatever stretch of meth infested highway runs between the rooms and settle this once and for all. And by settle, I'm thinking PLO flips until there is only one room standing.

Interesting that the ad above from Cheers advertises a $2 rake on cash games. I was there Wednesday night and they were raking a max of $7 and there was no promo going at that time.

It says "house rake", the promo rake is $5. Apparently you can take outside of promo periods to fund the promos.

Puck might have a second career in medicine, what with the power to heal from all the times he's shot himself in the foot. We get that he has to be frustrated by how events have unfolded, but every time he takes a step forward he follows it with two or more backwards. Wynn cannot open its doors fast enough for me.

Where does all the $$$ come from? I realize that the rake plus drop is exhorbitant, but still. Two examples come to mind:
1. How can BBCC afford to give away $30,000 over the last 2 days for HH’s?
2. How can Cheers recoup the expense of building a (compatitevly) huge casino from scratch?

Given the ferocity of some the inter-casino squabbles, I can only conclude that running a “charity” casino is a license to print $$$. But then again, perhaps their is no factual basis for my conclusion but I am genuinely curious.

I might be wrong, but I believe BBC is one of the rooms that collects additional promo money when not actively running a promo. If you're collecting for 7 days and only paying out a prize on two days it shouldn't be too tough to recoup. Plus they may have had reserves in the account built up over time.

Even if you only have 5 tables running over 10 hours each day, that is 50 hours of play, at least 20 hands per hour raked at $2 for a promo drop and you get $2,000/day in promo money as an estimate. Looking at Poker Atlas right now half of the rooms are running 10+ tables and only Seabrook is less than 5. I don't think you'll see a recurring $30,000 weekend but it at least appears possible to pull off over time.

48 is 20% of 240. It’s 25% of 192. I guess what they said isn’t wrong, but whatever.

The $2 rake sign should be illegal. They are raking $7.

If $7 comes off the table without a player option then it’s $7 rake. Separating it as rake and drop is just smoke and mirrors. Wouldn’t be surprised if the next sign says $1.30 max house rake. Already separating promo, why not take out charity’s portion and tax???

BTW I hope charities catch on to this rake shenanigans. $7 taken off table each hand and they get 70 cents. Charities can only do these events 10 times a year. Hopefully they are paying attention to which rooms actually run things straight forward. $5 promo drops avoiding charity and state gaming tax is the type of crap that will force new laws and potentially ruin this good thing local poker scene has been enjoying.

Regarding your last point — and I’m not necessarily disagreeing — but I think a lot of the players are to blame here for putting the rooms in a tough spot. So many players only go to rooms based on which ones have the best promos, so the rooms it seems have to do this or they won’t survive.

Can you blame us (the players)? When a high hand isn't running you have to fade an enormous drop without the possibility of getting anything in return, and even if you want to play under those circumstances in many rooms there isn't a game running when there's no high hand. I'd gladly play at a 5+1 room with a promo like progressive royals and no high hand, but I'm not going to pay a jackpot drop without getting the full value of it back.

I think you eliminated every single poker room in New England aside from Twin Rivers. Do you even get to play?

High hands suck. I was set up to lose a big pot yesterday at foxwoods vs. 2 players who have me smashed. And they never bet and I did the only betting. WTF is going on with these nits high hand hunting.

It's a player's market, not unlike a buyer's market when it comes to houses. Players these days either are smart enough to know how to get all the relevant information on promos, or they know someone who is, or they just can eventually find out by asking around. Fewer rooms would solve this, or places will have to find ways to truly differentiate themselves, which is tough when there are limits on the higher bet/blind and the $$ that has to go to the charities.

This all reminds me of the next town over from me, where there are six pizza places within one square mile. It's dog eat dog in terms of deals on slices and pies, leading people vote with their wallet more so than their taste buds. Oh, and each will call up big fake orders to the other, plus post bad yelp reviews. There's nothing like too much competition in the day and age of the internet.

It's a survivor tournament. Once you get down to 10.42% of the field the tournament ends and everyone remaining wins $2000. Not sure why they didn't call it a Survivor though.

Yeah, I guess folks who haven't worked all over the USA in the poker industry, would think nothing unusual is happening ITT. Such folks probably presume that Mom-and-Pop poker rooms dropping $2+5 and sniping at each other on Facebook, while their state and local governments put on an entirely separate clown show, is just how poker works in this country, because that's the only poker they've ever known.
