I can't speak for the NH rooms, but Twin River will have NLHE 1/2, 2/5 and 5/10 running, maybe some 3/6 limit. The casino is 18+ so you'll get college kids in the 1/2 games.

games are pretty soft in general.

Games are good in NH. Couple things to keep in mind. These aren't casinos. They are charity games held in small "poker" rooms. Also, their hours are 11am-1am.

Twin Rivers is more of a casino with 24/7 option. (doesn't mean games necessarily run 24/7, but you get my point.)

I'm torn on the whole HH issue. Personally, I don't care about promo's and I'd be willing to bet that the majority of those 1-2 players that come in for the HH promo are unaware that it's THEIR money that's being raked off the tables, not money coming from the coffers of the room. On the other hand I played a couple hours at 1-2 at Chasers on Sat waiting for a PLO seat and everyone was trying to hit the HH and me playing actual poker. Felt like 2006 again.

I think it's a valid point that $7 rake at 1-2 will eventually eat into the disposable income of the players. The other thing the rooms might want to think about is how it affects traffic when there are no promo's going. They're going to end up with busy during promo, graveyard other times. I've noticed that happening already.

I don't know if the idea of a "host" would work, but if it was me, I'd identify those players that come frequently, for poker and not HH, are fun to play with and know lots of other players and create some incentive to play at my room. I know the PLO community here has been trying to coordinate with each other. Sounds like an opportunity for someone. I mean Big-O runs all the time at Manchester but not anywhere else? Why? I feel like whoever is managing these rooms don't understand poker beyond NLH.

In short, try embracing some actual card playing rather than turning your room into a giant scratch ticket.

This, plus even a mouth breather should realize after a couple of hours has gone by there are a lot less chips on the table just in the normal course. Sure, people rebuying and topping off will disguise that fact somewhat, and I'm not saying it will make folks rack up and leave right then and there; but if you pause to let it sink in even a little, it can make you rethink your choice of where to play if there are other viable options.

If folks have the rakes for each of the local sites PM the information and I will consolidate them for posting at the beginning of the thread with our moderator. This will allow folks to make a choice where they want to bring there money.

I heard a figure when NH allowed no limit. Rockingham would a months worth of $$$ in now 1 week. So to say that the rakes is too high I would agree.

Puck,

I'll preface this by saying I am not joking or busting your balls, but actually trying to give you some advice on something I have some knowledge about. You should seriously consider staying off the internet. You suck at it and that will end up hurting your business. You should also be thankful Lattimer deleted all your posts from the last few days.

40min to Salem rooms is right. Twin River is more like 60min+.

I think traffic to TR is way worse if it's at all close to rush hour(s) but others might debate that.

Truer words were never spoken. I occasionally feel bad about wanting Cheers to fail but dammit he is the reason I feel that way

You just missed a **** show. Puck insulting everyone, potential clientele and competitors, being hostile and argumentative. Real good PR for his room

That really is a shame. People skills are a crucial element to building a business in the service sector. Reputations are earned and once they are established it is an uphill battle to change the consumers perception.

Go back to Puck's posts about some WSOP kid and a letter writing campaign. He was going to right a great injustice. Seemed naive at best to me. IMO, we saw even more of that on display on the internet probably leading up to the internet.

Obviously the "borgata north" was never going to happen. It was exciting to consider but the realities of the NH poker market are pretty apparent. Perhaps if really nice place opened up right after the Rock it could have worked but the poker scene is pretty split and there wasn't a significant uptick of new players because of the new locations.

Right now it seems MTTs are Hampton thing, Chasers has the 2/4 scene (which means best cash action). Then there is whatever is going on at Manchester/BBC but again just based on where those are given the population centers of the players bases it'll be a local scene. Its still gonna be quite a wait before we have a really awesome poker scene directly in Boston.

Cheers has a chance of taking some MTT business their way, over time. They have a nice room and I think there is more population around their room than say, Hampton.

I think one of the things Cheers will need to fix is their MTT schedule, which right now has like 5 events scheduled every day of the week.

Simply put, there just aren't enough players in the NH/MA poker economy to make that viable. On top of that, who will regularly be playing weekday MTTs in the day? Almost nobody.

You can schedule a slate of MTTs for Sat and/or Sun and hope the weekend take offsets the weekday lull, but weekday tournaments are just not going to happen, short of maybe one big one a week starting at 6:30 or 7pm.

Just one man's crappy opinion.

I'm getting some free PLO coaching from Jeff Boski on Thursday and want to use it playing PLO on Friday!

Who's around for PLO on Friday, probably at Chasers....alternate location Hampton Falls? I'm pretty sure I have Bugsyyy and MAC already lined up...

Shoot me a DM and let's get a game going!

What are Boski's results/credentials in PLO? I get that he plays it, but is he any good? Hopefully this won't be tantamount to getting free throw shooting advice from Shaq.

Good point! I have no clue. I do think he's a good/aggressive tournament player, though with some questionable punts but whatev. Since the coaching is free, and I don't really need tourney coaching, I thought why not PLO. If I can pick up one good pointer, it's worth the phone call. If not Imma give him some coaching; stay out of those 'massage' parlors!

This indicates you're not qualified to give coaching tho...

Hit up Chasers after I decided against the drive to Foxwoods, ole reliable per say . Well I was pleasantly surprised...nice chairs, some nice tail grabbing drinks, and people with cash in hand rebuying after every bad beat ...wink ...wink... anyway , better than Boston Billiards for me . Twice caught marked cards there , yes I told em etc..four hours +$260 .

When no limit was introduced in new hampshire, rockingham park would bring a Months worth of business in 1 week. They made 4x the amount going from Limit to No Limit poker.
