BBBC opens in a couple weeks.

You're not alone. Too many rooms. Games aren't plentiful since everyone is spread out throughout the region. If this was 2003-2006 every room would be packed.

That assumes you lump in Salem and Nashua. For folks like me coming from MA, Nashua is a much more viable option most days due to 93 awfulness. I still can't for the life of me understand why there's no room in Lebanon, since there's no poker in Vermont (right on the border) and Dartmouth College is ten minutes away. That seems like such a huge wasted opportunity.

Took first trip to chasers; first impressions:

Nice chairs, tables and chips. Cards seem small. Have $100 plaques (kinda cool). Room is clean and has a nice atmosphere. Staff all seemed friendly. Players card that earns you .50/hour I was told.

Some dealers were terrible and slowed the game down a lot.

Overall nice room, I will be back.

Route 3 is worse than 93

And where would that be Mister? Chasers? Hampton Falls?

I fully intend to get a black placard thingy from you if it's chasers.

Fair, but where should we post something like that? We want to know where a player who drives action plays.

The name "Chasers" is genius for getting neutrals in the door as it suggests chasing pots for poker players, chasing shots or chasing tail from an outsiders perspective.. The pits were packed last night and Def more than a few tried their hand at real poker after a few beers and pit games. The place is great

My mom is involved with a few Salem NH groups who have been eager to get the charity poker money flowing again, and relies on me to keep her updated on the poker scene there from 1500 miles away (everything I know springs from this thread).

Any way, she was struggling to keep Cheers and Chasers straight, as they sound so similar. It's an interesting wrinkle.

Nowhere. People aren't supposed to know who you're talking about.

November 5, 2017
Update: HI everyone, on October 19, 2017, I posted a status update:
Cheers Poker Room & Casino
Schedule Update
October 19, 2017,
Greetings Everyone,
It looks like we are 10 construction days from complete; Halloween. ** subject to reasonably industry standard timed inspections.
The not so LOL reasonable timed inspection was finalized Wednesday, November 1. So instead of being complete with 10 construction days from the 19th, we did not get greenlighted until 3 days ago.
Big crews hit the Casino Thursday morning, the place got insulated and is 100% drywalled and taped. Sheetrock finish should be ready for prime on Wed. Tile is going in all the new baths Thursday and a professional decorator selected Casino paint colors last Friday.
Folks, this is a big project. The first real Poker Room & Casino buildout in New Hampshire and the town and state are treating it as such. There are no shortcuts on inspections and no shortcuts on safety for a building that will hold 600 people at once.
The building has new everything: HVAC, electric, plumbing and bathrooms (9 fixtures in the men’s room), a 37-foot-long granite bar, restaurant, 47 TV’s, indirect LED lighting (no shadows) insulation, new parking lot, new new new. Bravo Poker, Shufflers It’s a massive project and delays are expected. Everything is in place for the final finish push.
I think the locals were taken by surprise with the scope and magnitude of the Cheers Poker Room and Casino and really stepped up oversight and strict enforcement of every possible code under the sun. Truthfully, it’s a big project and need scrutiny.
The place is coming out amazing. As people know, I have played in rooms all over the country. The design is a blend of the very best rooms and elements and has been built for the players and employees. I legit may have over done it. (LOL-UGH)
While I hope to wrap it up very quickly, (we have/had and entire MTT November schedule approved) the final signoffs are sure to be at the absurd level. This is a huge project (30 poker/16 table games) the largest room in NH and Salem’s only assembly zoned approved project, so it has wacky sign off potential.
My goal is to open ASAP and get our great staff working.
Opening date is 100% in the hands of the town and the state. We will get there, and I will keep you updated. We are close. The wait will be worth it…

I tried out Chaser's and was extremely impressed with the room itself. Didn't feel overcrowded, tables had charging stations at each seat, and comfortable chairs. The dealers were pretty average and one that we had seemed as though she was dealing her first ever hands. I'm sure she will be fine though.

I also really like the player cards that actually get you some cash back. $0.50 per hour played so that can add up and it can be used on food, drink, etc. Overall, very nice room and layout. I would like to see bigger tv's in there. Obviously that's not as important but from a good amount of the seats you only have a view at a very small tv. There are only a couple big tvs in the room but most seats at the tables are too far away.

I am concerned with the amount of rooms opening up in southern NH. I have a feeling Manchester is about to step their game up. I can't imagine too many people will make the drive from Mass up to Manchester with quality games going on in both Nashua and Salem. Very interested to see what Cheers poker room does also. Sounds like a huge investment in a saturated market but hoping for the best. I just don't think there are enough players to go around and it will be even worse when the Wynn opens.

I've been impressed with the way that Chaser's has been soliciting input, but not only that, they have acted on the suggestions, with improvements or timely planned improvements for lighting, sound, dealers, bathroom, game improvements, and probably other areas.

I like Chasers but at peak times it gets really loud. Like can't hear the person across the table loud. And they still seem to have table filling issues.

Not sure why my post last night was deleted. But Puck has posted an updated about Cheers on his FB page and website, check it out, since I'm apparently not allowed to link it here.

its adorable to see the inability to stick to a timeline spun as a positive thing instead of gross incompetence.

LOL, I think the guy's first post in the thread made it clear that the "timeline" was far, far, FAR beyond his control.

If you think it's so easy, YOU go try it! Go build a cardroom from scratch. Don't use a building that already has a kitchen, a bar, an appropriate parking lot, etc. Don't start this project in a town that already HAS poker, and isn't concerned that allowing a poker room will lead to traffic jams to rival the Super Bowl. If you think it's so easy--

--no, what's easy is sitting at a keyboard and crapping on someone else's efforts.

Dan acts like nobody in this thread knows about construction projects. He is in control of the timeline. He is stretching the truth to everyone because he thinks nobody here knows construction. He obviously got in over his head once he exceeded his budget.

I think the New England area is only going to get better as far as poker is concerned. We'll have over 15 poker rooms to choose from within 2 years , counting those that have yet to open.

With a finite number of players, these rooms will have to compete for our business. Most players would choose to play at the closest room. If those rooms that are a bit of a drive for me want my business, they'll have to offer a reason for me to play there.

I for one am looking forward to this playing out. The best rooms should survive and prosper. The weak ones may fall off altogether. The players should benefit from this competition .I look forward to having our voices heard.

Seriously that leaves a bad taste in my mouth and makes it less likely I let that establishment get any rake from me. Don't bad mouth competition. There's a lot of good people who work over at Chasers and all the poker rooms.
