Premium cards, chips and tables (which include shufflers). That's all a poker player can ask for.

Tournaments are nice once in a while, but it's hard to create a good balance. I sort of miss the days of the Rockingham Park SNGs.

You guys are nuts. Of course a poker room is going to have a regular schedule of tournaments. Why *wouldn't* they? And why wouldn't you *want* them to do something that brings more players into the room?

Well, because I never play tournaments... To me, they are boring and a huge waste of time. The rake is insane and they all end up as shove fests at the end. Maybe the big once a month types with a higher buy-in might be worth it, but I'd rather come and go as I please.

What's more, the average NH tournament participant is that same person who will buy into a 1-2 game, and ONLY a 1-2 game for $60 and wait to get it in with a big pair. Believe me, I've tried to get these people to sit in the PLO game or the 2-4 if PLO isn't going, it's not happening.

It'd be an interesting experiment to see what happens when a room doesn't have tournaments. I mean, look at the Rock(may it rest in peace). Once they had table stakes their big tournaments stopped running. I don't know what would happen but saying you must have tournaments to make it work is debatable.

It'd be an EXPENSIVE experiment if it doesn't work, lol.

I don't live near NH any more, I had no idea the NL cash games coming in had that big an impact on the tournament scene.

But I know if I were running a room, I'd offer tournaments. If there were no takers, I'd drop it. But it seems like bad business to tell a customer coming into your store, "We don't sell what you came looking to buy (a tournament seat), we want you to buy this instead (a cash-game seat)." That customer is going to choose the store that sells the item he wants to buy, and a business owner should obviously strive to provide it for him.

When I first started playing poker, I played only tournaments. Playing for real money seemed a lot more dangerous. If I entered a tournament, I limited how much I could lose. And it was what I had seen on TV. It's more exciting.

Nowadays I play a lot more cash, but I think tournaments are more newbie friendly, and we should be encouraging newbies.

I don't think there's any question that Cheers is going to have tournaments. I think Puck specifically sectioned off a portion of the room for tournaments, so all of this talk is really useless.

True, but who's to say they actually run? Seems like Hampton has all the tournament action. Look at Seabrook, they can't get anything going. I don't care too much either way, but I will say this: If there's a list of people for let's say, PLO, like 8+ ppl long and the floor tells me he can't spread it because there's too many dealers working the $50 tournament, I will not be happy.

I have played at all the NH poker rooms and BBCC is by far the best in the state. Best 2 4nl around daily and today they had a plo game going all day that I played. A dealer told me that they are expanding by Sept 1st into the big room next door to separate poker from the noise from the bar and pool area.

If you go by number of tables running Hampton is clearly the leader. Well, that is until Cheers opens.... update Puck??

Yah I'm very interested to see what happens with Cheers. I think there is a good percentage of the player base where it will be the best option. So for players like me it's a no brainer and the rooms looks to be impressive and ambitious. So now if you have the same drive to your current room are you going to try the new room or stay at your spot which are both solid IMO.

I'd say for 2/4 there are 3 at most 4 games running on a weekend. Maybe 8 games total are running overall between BBC and Hampton. Now are there more players not playing now that will be in Salem? How will those games split? Etc etc

I agree that BBCC is a great room, but I wonder if expansion is a good idea. That room seems to be dying down a bit already from its peak a few months ago in terms of cash games, plus some of the dealers have said they can barely get tourneys running nowadays.

Just looked at list in OP. Weird that Salem still has that void left by Rock.

What happened to that room at Hampton Beach? Not listed. Always thought that was an awful location...and I don't even know where in Hampton Beach it was!

As they said in trading places......"can't we have both?" Planning on providing the best of both....

........ going to be different approach than typical NH past... details coming.

Hi all....... we are progressing along both inside and outside the building. Met and did paperwork for tons of dealers, floors and charities the last 2 weeks at our onsite office. Swamped city and employees rolling in daily.

Looking for dealers, floor, cashiers, everything. We are going to raise the bar on Poker in NH. I am 100% committed to making the room a place I would want to play in, and I would want to work in. Real Casino, Real Jobs.

Amazed at the people we have signed up. Completely amazed and excited. Looks like awesome staff right out of the gate.

Place is torn apart, so really can't get anyone in for tours, but, I'm onsite everyday, so comeonby and say hi! don't be afraid to bring me food.

Finally, while I am super pumped and committed to making a great Poker Room and Casino, I am equally pumped to be working with so many great NH charities. I've been doing fund raising and charity work all my life, how great is it I now get to combine my true loves. Poker/Casino and Charities and helping people.

BTW........we are committed to having a designated Pit staff within 6 months of opening. Really don't want poker dealers doing downs at BJ21 etc....

Again, feel free to stop in and say Hi, both LeAnn and I are there all the time, maybe we can get you in the construction zone....tks all DD

I understand that Foxwoods and Peter Pan bus lines did not come to an agreement on their latest negotiations and PP basically told Foxwoods to screw off. Their last runs will be 7/22. I know many people from NH and MA ride these down for the day and it seems like Foxwoods is already giving up on these markets. The current and future NH rooms (like Cheers) and the future MA casino's are sure to benefit.

Are there any other buses from Boston that run to FW? As a carless commuter living in Boston, as much as I'd love to go to these NH rooms, there's no public transit/buses that go to those parts of NH unfortunately. Renting a car just cuts way too much into potential profits IMO.
