I don't know if you are familiar with how BBC (now BBCC) looked before the poker room, but they renovated that whole back area (used to be a handful of pool tables on one side and foosball and some other games on the other side), loaded it up with poker tables and table games, and added cage windows to the back wall.

The location could use a bit of tweaking (e.g., shielding the poker room from the loud music in the pool hall, attracting more bar and billiards patrons to the gambling games), but overall, very nice setup. Kinda interesting to see so many Rockingham staff together in a place that doesn't feel like it's going to give you a respiratory illness.
Are the tweaks you are suggesting to lower the noise and what not pretty easy fixes you think?

As nice as that room appears, I'd hate to be playing with lots of loud noise in the background.

The main issue with the noise was that they had live music going across the room. I'm sure it's just a matter of managing the flow of the sound or something.

As to marketing the games better, I think it could use more signage or some other way of attracting casual players. I guess we'll see what it looks like during/after the official grand opening next week, though. They may have something planned that's not there yet.

I didn't count them one by one, but PokerAtlas says 16, and that seems about right.

Went Friday night. Action was good, and set up was nice. They haven't opened the room next to their space yet, so not sure what's up there. Someone said that would be tournament room.

As far as the noise, it definitely wasn't quiet, but you could still hear everyone at the table clearly without issues. To each their own I guess. Personally I liked the cash tables being in plain view of a busy bar with people drinking. Perhaps attract some fish taking shots, or just draw attention and grow the player pool. I was at 2/4 and recognized every player at table. It would be nice to attract new faces.

I went their for the first time the other night. I am impressed. Nice atmosphere; although I am used to the rock.

Edit- floor is super accommodating. Let us play HU while we waited for seats at the main table.

BBC Nashua TR from last night:

Clean new tables. Clean new chips. Reasonably comfy chairs. Tables don't seem packed in so much that you can't move around, but with only 4 or 5 poker games going maybe I shouldn't be judging that yet. The pit games seemed to be slammed and I fear pool players and bar patrons who are curious about what's going on in the new area are gravitating to the pits. Everyone at my table seemed to be a reasonably competent 1/2 player. Maybe I should have changed tables, but I got the same vibe from the others. I think there was one 2/4 going for a while but it broke before the end of the night. There was an interest list for PLO that didn't get off as far as I know. Dealers keep their own tips here, which I applaud.

They have happy hour with half price drinks three nights a week (including 9-11 last night.) Drinks are served in real glasses, which was a nice touch. Service was slow, but it seemed like last night was their biggest night yet and I'm not sure they had enough staff working. The big projection TV's are nice, but if you end up in a seat with your back to them, or a poor view of the game you're interested in, the auxiliary flat screen TV's are pretty small and only around the perimeter of the room. It is indeed loud but tolerable for me. YMMV.

One thing I will say is that this place definitely skews younger. It's hard to imagine the older folks I know and love from Hampton Falls migrating over here. If the action picks up I'll be back (it's about 5 minutes quicker to BBC than HF for me) but I'll probably stick with HF for now.

Does anyone else chuckle every time they see the acronym "BBC" ITT?

I stopped laughing at the number 69 a long ago, and I look down on people who still do...but BBC has me in stitches.

It's not awful(maybe it is) but that's because its the only option for 24/hr poker close by for now.. Dealers can't even handle or read boards for NLHE so I can't imagine omaha.

Still gonna be a year till dispensaries open. Idk why MA doesn't just open the floodgates gates and reap the tax revenue. Nah, we gotta wait a full year.

It's true. Like i said in the Wynn hype thread, guess how long it's been since James Galdofini died? Would you believe THREE and a half years. I'm not saying 30 months is just around the corner, but it seems farther away because it's something you want to arrive.
