This thread is to inform people of the game selection in our area. Will tell what I know and hope for help.
Roxy

Fallsview: All NLHE: many 2-5 tables $100-500 buy-in, one or more 5-10 game 200-1000 buy-in, 10-20 weekends only . One 5-5 PLO has been going most of every weekend also. YAY!
Casino Niagara: lots of 1-2 NLHE, rumor has it it's the place to be. Never been there myself.
Port Perry: 20-40 Omaha High some days, 10-20 hold 'em every day, dunno what else.
Brantford: 10-20, 20-40 with a kill. Haven't been there in awhile. When people talk about the place the words "action" and "kill" keep coming up.
Rama: 1-2 NLHE and ???
Private games....something somewhere

Wait times can be long, especially on weekend.
I am a Fallsview girl obv! (when I'm not on Pokerstars )
Would love to hear other's opinions on the choices in the area.

I think you've pretty much got it covered. I believe Point Edward (near Sarnia) has a poker room and Gananoque also, but those are a pretty good drive from Toronto. Fallsview is obviously the only place to play any "high stakes" games, which is a shame because they could use some competition. Vegas, it ain't.

Congrats on your Team PS sponsorship, btw.

Port Perry is all limit.
5-10
10-20
20-40
Omaha Limit is 20-40, they used to have 10-20 but not sure what happened to it.

I think we should add "call in available" to the list.
Not sure if Rama offers this, but fallsview, PP and Brantford do.

Also Brantford is only limit too. They do have weekly Thursday and Sunday tourneys though. Nl and Omaha

The 10-20 is 500-3000 buy-in. Most of the regs. buy in for maximum. There are usually many people 2000-4000 deep on the 5-10 table. There have been more 5-10 games since they eliminated 5-5.

Seneca Niagara just cross the border :
2/5 NL, 1/2 NL, and lots of 1/2 NL (100 max buy in)
3/6 Limit, usually with a half kill and one or two tables of 2/4 Limit
sometimes they have a limit O/8 game, but not lately
and they have a BBJ

My wife and I are going to Niagra this summer and I would love to spend one night playing while I am there. I was thinking of stopping at Turning Stone, but, if Seneca is OK. Maybe I will just play while there.

I usually play 4/8 limit @ foxwoods. How is the 3/6 half kill game?

Rama;

2-5 LIMIT - 1 table 7 days a week, maybe, mayyybe 2 on random days.
1-2 NO LIMIT - [40-200] - Min 4 tables 7 days a week during the day/evening, as many as 6 or 7 on weekends. At least 1 open 24/7, sometimes 2 or 3 on weekends run all night.
2-5 NO LIMIT - [100-500] - Always 1 full table during the day 7 days a week, usually 3, sometimes as many as 5 on weekends. Will usually break around 5 or 6am, to start again at 11am, but go 24/7 on weekends.

They have been running interest lists for 5-10, 10-20, and 20-40 limit HE but have not been able to fill the games before they've opened all their tables with NL games. But if we get the interest before the games open, they'll open limit games for us.

The 3/6 half kill game at Seneca seems to be always played by the same bunch of guys, but it is still a good game, since the stake is low and no one really cares. Obviously, between the rake, tip and BB drop, it is not going to be a profitable game, just a fun game. Lately I am trying my luck at the 1/2 NL, 100max game, with mixed results but I have to do something between lunch and dinner buffet

What are all of your thoughts on the quality of play at Great Blue Heron in PP, specifically @ 10-20 LHE?

Filled with regs. Most tables of 10-20 are very nitty.
bump up to the 20-40 and see the action come alive

So you are saying that the 20-40 is generally a lot more looser/profitable than 10-20? I have played 5-10 and I am ready to move up, just not rolled for 20-40 yet.

I hate Great Blue Heron, there is no comp for poker or table games, no comp for slots either, just some cheap CB. The buffett is below average, and cost an arm and a leg. There is talking about building a new casino right beside the current one, start building next year, maybe open in 2012, hope it will be a decent casino with regular comp systems.

Yes, I am sponsored by Pokerstars as a member of Team Online. This means that I get to be on the website and have the cute little spade on my avatar. It is the only site I play at, and I get bonuses and some WCOOP and SCOOP tickets. Very lucky to have been picked for this. Many people at the Fallsview ask if I get a free WSOP seat. No. I am on the "online" team.
I'm sure we have seen each other in Niagara at some time. Have played there for the last three years a couple of times a week. My name is Mandy. Most people remember me because I'm one of the only girls that play 10-20 and 5-10 there and of course the PLO recently. Feel free to say hi if you see me there!

Have never been to Port Perry but this was often the case at the Brantford Charity with the 20-40 having more action than the 10-20. How about that 20-40 Limit Omaha game at Blue Heron though anyone? Have been wanting to drive over there someday and check it out

Port Perry 10-20 can be very nitty at times, usually its okay though.

The Omaha is limit, so lots of action. 4-6 peop;e pre flop who stay with any pocket pair.
Prepared to lose 800-1000 quite quickly if your cards are not holding up. Nuts or don't bother playing.

Any other Heron regs at 2+2?

Thursday I have a home game in Oshawa; if out early I'm headed to the Heron.

Well I am currently a student at UOIT...I am taking a hiatus from poker as I currently have many assignments and exams to do in the next month...then I am working 20-40 hours a week this summer + training for the toronto waterfront marathon till the end of September. I will probably be at Heron by next Christmas break after I finish my first semester next year. I think it will be good to clear my head and work towards a goal like a marathon. I guarantee I will be hungry to get back at the tables again.

Port perry is a joke, the chips suck the dealers are horrible. The best thing that happened was them going to rake. Its tuff to pay session when you dont get more than 15 hands an hour. Over the last ten years it has gone down hill considerably. However the action is still great. The 20 40 omaha plays crazy, i know people that have won 10000 in a session. Do not eat at the buffet unless u want food poisoning. So sad how this plays has turned out.

Hey, I'm in Ajax every other weekend and have tons of friends at UOIT, is this an open home game or just between friends?

I think you misinterpreted. He asked if there were any regs, I was just saying that I will be going more often after my school/marathon obligations.
