If this is true, it's sad.
I should follow this advice ... I was going somewhere once, sometimes twice a week, then I got spooked and I have cut way back. I've only been in a NH room twice this month, thou I've been in the Boston Encore 3 times this week,
cause I'm a degen (sad).
FWIW, I am also “spooked”. From June 19th through July 21st. I have played 15 relatively short sessions (averaging 1:65 hrs. per session @ Boston Billiards Club and Casino. Interestingly enough. There is a sign posted in the Men’s Room asking patrons to limit there time at BBCC to 90 minutes a day.
My observations:
BBCC instructs patrons on arrival that masking is mandatory & if you don’t have a mask you can purchase on there (for $2.00).
Patrons at the bar do not wear masks.
Players Pool Tables are very lax about wearing a mask.
Poker dealers and staff all wear masks.
Most poker players “wear” masks except when they have a drink in front of them.
Some poker players do not cover their nose with the masks.
Poker Room staff and dealers do not proactively enforce the mask mandate.
At least some of the poker players have played at other NH rooms where wearing a mask is optional.
My conclusion:
The risk of contracting COVID-19 at BBCC is significantly less than at other NH Casinos, Brook excepted.
When all the NH rooms were closed, I was fairly content with not playing poker.
I am probably addicted to playing poker. I would personally prefer that the NH governor or individual mayor close all the rooms until there is some recognized way of ensuring the safety of the staff, dealers and players.
