What can you tell us about these floors and dealers? Are they experienced people from CT or LV or are they newbies from the local market?
I'm curious what kind of staff we'll see at the beginning.

One of the experienced dealers that I know who is moving from Foxwoods to MGM told me that they're going to be using only their new and inexperienced dealers on the soft open as a sort of boot camp to get them ready. The experienced ones have it off. Expect some growing pains.

I also know people here from Vegas who worked with me at Bellagio that transferred over to Springfield, so you got them coming from everywhere!

Everyone I know going there is good. I'm thinking the staff will be great... But remains to be seen.

I'm excited for MGM Springfield. Let's go.

Yeah, $50 get you 15k - you can rebuy up to twice at any point or if you have a rebuy available at the break, you can add-on for 20k instead. Its a fun fast tournament.
This wasn’t a joke. They really did this.

A question about Chasers:

According to the PokerAtlas website, the rake is 10% to $5, but there is no mention of a jackpot drop.

Do they really not have a jackpot drop in spite of their various promotions?

It's $1 at $20 on regular days and an additional $1 at $40 on high hand days.

Yup, you’re right. I was there today, and they were still talking about it. They chopped that tournament 18 ways for $300 apiece. Which is insane to me, because although The average stack was about 12 bigs, there were at least two really big stacks - can’t imagine why they’d go for it.
So apparently I got knocked out 19th, not 18th.
Kind of a kick in the nuts and kind of hilarious.

They will be running a free shuttle from the bus/train station to MGM.
Not sure of any direct routes to the casino though.

Loving the 11AM opening time at Chasers. The only exception is half the faces at the first $2/$5 table at opening are always the same, and one of them is a grouchy, know it all, glass tapper extraordinaire. It was particularly cringeworthy yesterday.

By 3:30pm the room was full; and by full I don't mean just the tables I mean people waiting for a seat, jammed in the casino pit, and just mulling around the room. It was like the general admission area for a rock concert, with people elbow to elbow. Granted it was a lousy weather day, but it's still a summer weekend. What's this place going to be like in November? I can only imagine. They need to find a second location or relocate to a bigger space because I'm guessing they could easily have 50% more capacity on any given weekend.

They left money to play for. My
Buddy was the dominating chipleader. Refused to chop. Lost AA to JJ of a giant slob with a cowboy hat and sunglasses. The cowboy hat then announced he would run the clock out. Classy guy.

I checked PokerAtlas on Sunday. At one point there was over a hundred people on their waiting lists.

This weekend, I heard a NH dealer say the the WYNN Boston wouldn’t open its poker room until a year after the rest of the casino opens. I expect that’s bull****. Anybody know the truth?

Lmfao, sounds like complete BS to me. He probably heard some stupid rumor which is trying to protect the NH charity rooms from imminent doom.

This is being built from the ground up, and there is absolutely no reason why one section of the casino won't be ready in time for the opening.

Especially when there are people here in Vegas getting trained already to head back to Boston and start training others. If they’re way ahead on doing THAT, I can’t imagine not being ahead on a section of the casino be open when everything else opens.
