In my opinion 90% of dealers think their own ability is much better than the players they deal to. Strangely however, they can't seem to turn a long term profit when they get in the game.

Also, 100% of the dealers reading this believe they are amongst the 10%.

The influx of newbie traffic is because of the newness of no limit to the state.
having been on the player side of the table across the country I will state their is a core group of regs here in NH who are above avg when compared to other venues around the country. A lot and I mean A lot of regs in other rooms barely know what they are holding never mind trying to put an opponent on a hand.
there are also a lot of regs here in NH who are ATM machines.

Look at the amount of NE 2+2'ers compared to other area's
can't you guys go back to watching sports instead of trying to improve your game

I hear this a lot, as a dealer, and usually reply with this old joke:

Q: You know what the poker games look like in heaven?

A: Nine white shirts, and an empty chair!

Don't really know where to post this so just gonna stick it here:

Which rake structure would you say is a better deal for the player:

0.5/1 NLHE with 5% rake up to $10 max
0.5/1 NLHE with 4% rake up to $25 max, but pots under 25 big blinds are not raked.

I know it probably depends, but let's say both games play loose, and other than that you have no other info. Which game do you pick?

Are MTTs running on weekends in the NH rooms or am I better off sticking with Mohegan/FW for Dailies? I'm sans car, so taking a bus to and from without paying an arm and a leg to stay overnight is difficult as it is, but shipping up to NH only to find out a MTT is canceled would not be ideal.

It sounds like you just stick with Foxwoods. The bus situation is better there, since the busses stop right there and they seem to run frequently. I have no idea how you’d even use a bus to play in NH. And many Foxwoods tournaments are guaranteed. NH tournaments never are, and it is not unusual for NH tournaments to get canceled due to lack of entries. But Hampton does regularly draw big numbers on weekends. You can download the Poker Atlas app and see for yourself in real time what these tournaments draw.

How could you possibly know that?

The $150 at Hampton Falls had 150+ people yesterday.

Please reread your original post above carefully. Your "opinion" was something about what dealers think about their own dealing ability. You then said that dealers "can't seem to turn a long term profit when they get in the game." You did not present that statistic as opinion.

My question is how could you possibly know that dealers "can't seem to turn a long term profit when they get in the game." I think you're wrong about that because I know multiple dealers who are winning players. They keep their dealing jobs for benefits and a steady income that hedges against variance.

I'd take a table full table of dealers everytime. Again just my opinion. No sources to cite.

Games with dealers aren't profitable as they tend to tip the (current) dealer too much draining all the money off the table. Fact not opinion.

Interesting “fact”. I Agree that dealers tend to “over tip” Hadn’t thought about the effect it has on the available $$$.

What is with you morons and your excuses as to why “games aren’t profitable”? Face it you just suck at poker.

I'd gladly take an all-dealer game - won't be any OMCs nitting it up there

Love watching winces of disgust from players when another player massively overtips.

Early candidate for "Post of the Month" right here.

As if the message wasn't strong enough, the poster felt the need to emphasize how awesome the message really was. Poker is not dead, nuh uh.

Obviously you need to stop calling people morons when you clearly can't read into those words on a deeper level to see perhaps a lighter or more satirical element to the posts.

And I'll only speak for myself. What I would contend is the top winrates at 1/2 aren't what I would consider profitable enough to play the games regularly and I think the high hand and excess rake contributes more to that than helps. That was my only point. Either way, its a personal opinion. For me its a combination of $/hr and fun/hr. So I think not just everyone "sucks at poker" who is stating that opinion.
