Hi Everyone...
couple of quick things:
you can take exit 1 or 2...we are about a mile and a half down the road. it takes about 4-5 minutes to drive and about 20 minutes less than turning off 95 to go to Foxwoods and 10 minutes faster than turning off 395 to go to Mohegan. At least 15-20 to turn off 95 to twin rivers. talk about driving distance to any room in NH is irrelevant.
Regarding promo rake back......points can be redeemed as CASH at the cage. Straight up even CASH. No discounted silly stuff.

If you play more than 8 hours a week, you redeem CASH back if you want it. points can be used for food, drink, apparel. Players wanting to save up a lot of points then redeem for big purchases, you got it.

Everything we are doing at Cheers will be done within the laws of the NH Lottery, and ALL of our programming has been approved by the lottery.

People have to remember, i am a poker player first. I have played all over the country and know first hand about rake and cost. All our programming is formulated to be sure those playing more than a few hours a week will be taken care of with our rake-back system.

Accumulation of "points" will start sometime in January after we get all the bugs out of the system and may be redeemed as CASH if desired.

Many crazy stories have been written with all kinds of plots, themes and speculation, almost all of them are plain out LOL.

I'm in the room everyday and will be for a while. I'm always open to suggestions and changes and Our goal at Cheers is to keep it simple and make it a place where people want to go and people know your name.

Our rake-back points programming will be printed and available in the room the first week of January. Its clean, its simple and easy to understand.

One thing people need to understand, and its what I tell our managers everyday.... We are not competing against anyone. I built a room I would want to play in, and I built a room I would want to work in. Not much other consideration was put into the build-out.

Long and strong player analysis went into MTT programming...check out January on our FB page..... and while we will have lots of player programming incentives, I refuse to spam all the local sights. Foxwoods and Bellagio do not do it, neither will we at Cheers.

Finally, save all the rake stories, no one know rake better than me, its why I constructed the rake back CASH program...

Thank you all, I do intend to register as a room owner to provide information and answer questions, don;t have much interest in promoting all over 2p2 no matter what...

Is there a fan club that you pay monthly to support Puck blindly?

So let me get this straight, I can go pay $5+1 rake somewhere else, get points that helps alleviate that rake or I can pay 6+1 w/ cash back ONLY if I average 8 hours a week. Ya, not selling me Puck.

I am curious how every room in NH legally does jackpots and promos. Each day they are open is a charity event for that day. There are no carry overs even if you run the same charity 10 days in a row. As an example if the house loses $10k in table games on Thursday and wins $10k on Friday it does not net out to $0. They give $0 to charity and pay $0 in taxes on Thursday, but pay $3,500 to charity and $1,000 in taxes on Friday. (Before any profit/loss).

So my question is how is it legal to rake during a charity event and give that away to someone at any other time other than that day? It’s even stranger that each room can basically just decide their own rules for when if and to whom it will be paid.

Really am curious as to how this is permitted.

I don't think you've paid attention to his posting. He's trolling. He's a BBCC reg who only posts to troll Puck, like that other guy.

Promos come from the “+$1” in the rake. No room that I know of pays for promos from rake money.

+1, +2 call it whatever you want but it’s rake. It’s not optional.

Worm: you are incorrect in many ways here:

A charity and the state can only win. Each day is a separate day and each day is closed out. Here's the fun part. If the house rakes $ 1000 at poker, the charity gets 35% and the state gets 10% out of the GROSS. THE GROSS. The second part is the table games. On the same day the poker was raked $1,000, and the charity got 35% and state 10% of that rake, the pit LOST $1,500. Guess what,,,,,,,,,, the government has made the rules............ there is not off set. The house absorbs the entire LOSS and the charity and state have no liability. Tally for the day for the house:
Poker rake $1000 minus 45% $550. Pit games lost $1500....
Total for the day: 550-1500......... house lost 950 for the day....LOL, your gov hard at work.

We have 18 pit tables at Cheers, so ..........

Regarding the promo.... the state put it in law that there can be a promotion rake that is not raked by the charity or taxed by the state and can only be used for player promo and incentives.
Its good for the charities as more players attracted equals more money for charity and state. Smart business.

Finally, no room is allowed by law to contribute to the player promo pool. Room owners cannot contribute to the pool (by law----) Promo's only are supposed to come from the promo rake. A new room, like ours, is allowed a one time contribution of $1,000 for player promo. Thats it, one time. Room have to save up prior to starting promo's more than that amount. At a meeting at the lottery, i asked if I could "loan" the promo pool $10,000 and was told nada....its $1,000, one time on opening day. For the record, in lieu of a cash promo on opening day, I'm offering advice on how to beat the rake at any game..... that's worth a ton. Helpful hint is avoid low rake, that's where the Rock's and nits are.... you not gonna make no $$ in those games...you want to play with recreation players. Big rooms with lots of tables allow juicy player pools and bigger pots.... simple formula...find the rec's and the action

We are open Saturday at 11 and will be open New Years Eve until 1AM...good luck at the felt everyone, if you stop by Cheers, look me up !!!

Happy New Year !!!

Hey guys,

I’m prolly going to play the 1pm tourney at Hampton and then PLO wherever I can find it, either Hampton or Cheers.

Again, wait service was atrocious at Chasers tonight. Is it too much to ask to be served a drink within an hour of ordering it? ESP since I had to wait an hour to get a waitress to take the order?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

You can't be serious. It's not like high rake inherently attracts recreational players or low rake attracts nits. The premise that you should specifically avoid low rake is nuts, and I almost can't believe I'm reading this on 2+2 of all places.

Even supposing you're up against slightly more recreational players than usual, high rake drains the game of funds faster, and an extra dollar over $5 is no small matter. That's an increase of 20% max rake. (The $1 drop doesn't count because it's a zero-sum bet.)

As to the state's "charity" racket, taxes, and insane policies in that area, yeah, that's a huge problem. I can agree with you that they have the state's gaming houses over a barrel with that stuff. And of course, now that the cows have gotten so fat grazing in that field, chances are small that they'd be willing to go on a diet. If anything, they'll get worse, and you know they won't learn the lesson until they drive everyone out of business, if even then.

This might be the dumbest thing ever posted on 2+2 if not the entire internet!!! Nice try though Puck, way to try and sell what is possibly the highest rake in New England as a good thing... LMAO I think you should do us an even bigger favor than you are right now and rake every pot $100 on the flop then it will attract blind, deaf, and dumb recs so we can really clean up!!! My sides are splitting from reading that steaming pile of nonsense you wrote!!!

I'll be back in rotation in early/mid Jan. Hope PLO gets going regardless. No poker room is right without it.

and personally, i'm looking forward to hitting up 4 hours at Chasers, taking a break and four more at Cheers. I do like how Puck put the whole they aren't competing against anyone. Just make each business solid and its good for everyone. i can't waste my energy on any of the other noise as a player.

Let's see. 2+2 community up in arms over extra $1 rake. They refuse to play there..... and the downside is?

I'm no fan of paying rake but let's be honest, the best non-casino games i've played in had a huge rake and I didn't notice any of the guys throwing money around like water complain. It's all about the action. If it costs me a dollar extra to be in a good game vs. a table of q-tips and nitty 2+2 er's.... I'm paying that dollar. Of course if all the games are the same lower rake wins.

unfortunately, I'm going to pass on poker today. Starting to develop cold like symptoms.
I am NOT going to be that guy sneezing at the table, no matter how much I want to play.

I also have concerns playing at a short handed table at Cheers. Not sure what kind of rake they will be pulling short handed. as much as rake can kill a game, it's even worse short-handed. As Jcrum mentioned, the bigger rake drains the chips from the felt. Rakeback doesn't put chips back on the felt for the game. If you play 7 hours in a tourney, and then 7 hours of cash, do you qualify for the 8 hours needed for rakeback at Cheers?

Chasers has an excellent short handed policy. I've been told the rake should not exceed the number of players not including the first player. Now this is player friendly!

Hopefully, Cheers will have a similar policy.

Do we know what the buy-in limits are at Cheers? Will they allow a $500 buy-in for 1/2 PLO, like Chasers?
Update: PokerAtlas is listing 1/2 PLO buy-ins for Cheers at $100-$500. cheers to Cheers!

if I'm feeling better, I'll be up to check out Cheers on Monday.
