Geez you guys are sensitive. I don't care about whatever NH poker politics are in play here. I'll be at Cheers when it opens and I'll assess from there.

I will say that my last time at Chasers I was called for my game, sat down and played. I was called again about 4 times. The last time, I said rather loudly, "Jesus, I"m already here" The floor came over and said "you must have got here before I started at 6 o'clock, because I pay attention" I didn't have the heart to tell him I got there well after he started. Paying attention is a pretty big thing when running a business. Especially when you consider empty seats cost you money. I'm not saying they were Twin River bad, but it definitely wasn't good.

It's strange, because I don't think the delays are solely construction/permitting related. The original anticipated opening date was Summer 2017 (in September). However, Puck just posted yesterday saying the chips just arrived. If the construction and permitting went as he originally planned he wouldn't have had chips for September opening????

P.S. Those chips look like a ripoff of Hampton Falls. I would bet they are the same chips, which in my opinion are subpar.

Before I launch into another defense of this guy, I just want to point out that I don't give a damn where any of you guys play poker--I'm only motivated by "Fighting Fuzzy Thinking", to borrow a 2+2 phrase:

I can't imagine it takes more than a week or two for a company that makes those chips to process an order. And if I was going to spend $1000's on such an order, I'd keep that money in my bank account for as long as I could. "Having money on hand" has a value, beyond the face-value of the money itself. What value is there in letting that money sit in the Chip Maker's account all summer?

Where you guys see negatives, I see a positive: the chips are here, meaning we're just about ready to open.

You could be right. I was just thinking more along the lines of, well if I'm planning to open in September I should probably have the chips in August.

I just want Cheers to open up so bad. Can't wait to see this place.

Oldskool cash flow thinking versus 21st century business reality. Graphics, printing, shipping, delivery all happen in light-year fashion now, instead of diesel locomotive time.

We do live in amazing times.

I question whether having all the different rooms is better for the games overall. Sure, competition will bring comps etc etc, but I think the quality of the games would be better with more table selection. first, i think a regular PLO game would run, and table selection would be more fun. I'm not grinding regularly, but from what I have seen at times you are walking into games with the same faces which has its downsides.

Interesting observation Dave... try ordering some chips, see how fast they come. Not fast; especially when your ordering a pallet load. Was pretty surprised at order time line, promised time line, actual arrived on site. Was a lot of money and super scary waiting for them to show up.... Only 3 actual chip factories in US. The biggest and best is in Miami and that place was damaged in the storm....

The chips are pretty nice and ceramic. I've never been in the Falls, so I would not know of a comparison. We did get samples from more than 5 companies.... maybe I'm not an expert in chips, in fact I know I'm not an expert........ I could not tell much difference between them and they all were relatively the same price...

........... I wish it was just a construction project. Construction is always the easiest part of the job and project. Much much more than a normal project and I can't tip my hand too much, but on top of all the local permitting and inspection issues we worked on for well over a year, we have the misfortune of being under DOT jurisdiction on Rt 28. Yes, that's correct. Also state jurisdiction.

And we are doing major infrastructure, and DOT is involved (#shootME)

That's the state. The State. Go try something with the state.

The town gets the road about 500' south of us.

Forget about actual construction, despite building an entire new place inside, baths, kitchen, bar, HVAC, sprinkler...etc.....that's easy. Try getting thru DOT in any type of reasonable time frame.

Torture and prime example of why people voted for Trump. Gov needs to change. It needs big change all around.

of coarse.... everyone is invited for a tour, lots of people come in everyday....

I have a few family events this weekend so I'm in and out, PM me and I'll make sure to give you a time to show up...

** side story. an elderly couple, very elderly showed up to play the other day. I told them we were not open, and they handed me money for chips. No-no, we are not open yet, and I hand them the money back.
The wife says we really want to play...... so I walk them into the not open room. 30 feet inside the door, they hand me the money again for chips....
........... no I did not keep their money...

........ LOL, the sign. maybe it ends up as memorabilia ? I was disappointed only that the company used the same wall board to put new letter on. has to be decades old. Cost them the big sign out front.

Way to much sign space for me anyway.

Our office next door has about 1000st feet of signs with the insurance company stuff on it. We are allowed by zoning to use it........ might get 2p2 member draft OK's before we change those....

Are any of the New England rooms open on Thanksgiving? Are they closing early on the Wednesday?

Last year Nashua BBC was packed. If youn werent there by 4pm, you couldnt get it due to capacity issue. I would assume all open regular hours wenesday, closed thursday and back open Friday....

Best guess

Puck, for you to say you've had anything scheduled is comical at this point.

Fall, spring, summer, fall, Halloween, ten days....

Probably need a special permit to serve turkey anyways.
