Nice to see they are going forward with the plans.

I heard from a dealer that they won't have automatic shufflers. His reasoning was that they had very little competition so why spend the money. Oh well. I only play a few times a year when I visit.

Maybe because they can deal more hands per hour meaning more rake per hour? The shufflers pay for themselves over time on top of making the dealers more money and keeping players happy. Its a win/win/win.

Not having auto shufflers is totally moronic.

Me too. Building a new poker room with new poker tables and not having auto shufflers is silly.

What's next...they keep the dirty, faded "greyhound" chips?

Lol, I'm pretty sure he said they'd be new chips!

It also protects the players from 51 cards, duplicate cards, mixed decks, etc. The Deckmate2’s technology is pretty cool.

i'm not sure if they have the same tech as some of the shufflers on pit games, but when they change decks for ultimate texas hold em, that machine can put the cards in the correct suit and rank order, which is kind of scary. i don't take to conspiracy theories, so i doubt the casino i frequent is going to risk millions to win thousands, but i'm sure if certain people saw that they would go bananas.

It's been running every time I visit, which includes noon on a Monday

Just got the e-mail saying they are opening this Saturday, 5/23.

No word on specifics (how many people to a table, using plexiglass?, masks, etc etc).

I moved to the area last year and just found this thread now. I've been playing here pretty regularly (not so much recently because of the Rona) since then.

Since the shutdown, I've noticed some changes (besides the masks, waiver, and temp check at the door). One, most of the old nits are gone. The white-haired, buy-in-for-$50, won't-even-raise-with-AA crowd have all but disappeared. I've only played 1/2 while waiting for a 2/5 seat, but the action has improved drastically. I also really, really like playing 6-max live. People are bad at full ring and they are even worse at 6-max.

Now I see that they are shut down until further notice again. The rumor is that a staff member tested positive. Not sure if it was a dealer or someone else.

Also I'm kind of glad that the dogs aren't running anymore here. It seems a bit inhumane.

Looking forward to the new room opening in the fall. I do wish the management was better here.

I was out there this evening and they are now playing 7 people to a table. Everyone still must wear masks (no plexiglass).

Signs were saying new poker room will be finished about September 2020 and they will have new chips. You must cash older chips in soon because I think the sign said they wouldn't honor after a certain point.

Anyone have any updates as to when the new poker room is open and what the rules will be? Also, how is the current state of the games. I used to play $2/5 here quite a bit and found the games extremely soft but I haven't played much at all since the rona due to the lack of availability of games. I was wondering how it's impractical the live games here in terms of overall quality, nitiness, etc. Thanks.

New room opens Tuesday, 9-29.
All chips from old room must be cashed out by Sunday Sept. 27 at 600pm

(above per e-mail sent to regs)

Apparently they are closed Monday 9-28 to transfer equipment

any pics of the new room, chips tables etc? Anyone know if they have plexiglass?

When you go to the old website it redirects you to a new, much revamped one

I haven't played in the new room yet. I had planned on going tomorrow and playing. They didn't do plexi at the track so I kind of doubt they're going to have it at the new place.

It's supposed to be all new tables, chips, chairs, etc.

The nittiness of the older population here is definitely a factor, but there are good 2/5 games.

I was out there this evening...nice room. No plexiglass and it was 7 to a table. Night and day better than what we had before. Tables have usb ports and cup holders. No card shufflers though. Bar/cocktail service has a lot more options (the Founders Gold lager is pretty solid).

How is the overall quality of the games? Preferably, how is compared to pre-covid? I've been to this room many times but haven't really played live since March.

I just got some info tonight about this room and without blowing up the spot too much it's a nice room to play in at the moment.
