PLO at times is 25 50 100 200 and 800 blind from late position. Not for the weak of heart or pocket book. Generally played with stakes similar to these, late and towards closing time. Good luck.

Headed to Naples next week. I have few questions about the "big" PLO game if someone could help:

1) How often does the game go? Best nights?

2) What time does it go off? Are there ever any day games?

3) Is the dog track safe to walk in/out with more than 10k?

4) Typical blinds? I understand bigger games may go at times but what are the typical blinds?

5) What is the frequency of randoms sitting in game or is it usually regs?

Thanks in advance,

PLOALJ

Only option within at least a half hours drive. Only other option close is SKC in Sarasota a little over an hour away. Immokolee is a waste of time imo.

Was there the other day and it seems like the seasonal folks have started to head back home. I always used to go right at open (9:45am) and have a table instantly. Had to wait an hour for a table this time.

Correct. And the early bird high promotion is great with less people in the room. I believe it's $400 every half hour for 1/2 and $600 for 2/5.

I do still wish they would add some sort of players rewards card so players can earn food or something for all the hours they play there.

They run a 1/2/5 PLO game that's $1000 max buy in but plays pretty deep. They allow a button straddle or a regular straddle and double straddle. So the game can play as big as 1/2/5/10/20. That doesn't happen as much but the button straddle to 10 happens often

Heading to FM next week, visiting fam. Likely to escape one day to check the room out.

Any info on rake, wait times, promos, etc. would be appreciated. I play $2/$5 NL.

All info regarding promotions can be found on their website just google it you will find it.

All games are raked at 5+2 with the exception of PLO which doesn't not have a jackpot drop

If anyone hasn't been here and wants to go. Assuming you play 1/2...do NOT go there in the morning. Or even go there during a high hand event. All you'll get is old nits, that's it...no action, no raises, no nothing. SWFL is the tightest area for poker (compared to the gulf coast and S Florida).

They allow $50 buy ins for 1/2 here so every old poor nit is buying in playing bingo. Worse player pool in poker as far as I am concerned.

If you do go look for a younger table or move to 2/5. You've been warned. The only way to beat these old *******s is to get set over set or a higher straight than them.

The only way eh? Hmmm... Something is telling me there's got to be another way, if only I could figure out what it is. Let me mull this over for at least 1.2 seconds.....

Ive played 2/5 here but not 1/2. However, the daytime 1/2 games at the Isle at Pompano Park in Southeast Florida are exactly the same.

You don't have to cooler someone to win though. You have to LAG it up and run them over. Keep raising and keep betting. It drives them nuts and some of them will leave the table. Just keep doing it.....then surrender to resistance. Definitely not as profitable as loose action games, but beatable for sure and pretty consistent profits.

I got that vibe at the Isle when I went; very tight and nitty play. It was bingo, actually!

I am at the point where I don't even sit at a table if it's full of white hairs; especially with short stacks.

It's when it's the best. Go on a Friday/Saturday night and it can be juicy.

New poker room coming!!!

https://www.naplesnews.com/story/new...om/2870896002/

Quote:
Florida’s greyhound racing era is ending, and the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track is going down with the sport.

Plans are in the works for a new 30,000-square-foot poker room and restaurant to replace the track on the south side of Bonita Beach Road near Old 41 Road.

“Now that greyhound racing is illegal in 2020 and, presuming that half of our business is not coming anymore and the fact that the building is old, we thought it’s the perfect time to demolish the old and build new,” said Izzy Havenick, vice president for government relations for the track.
