Down in North Ft Myers for the week, and I dont feel like making the 2 hour drive to Tampa this time to play at the Hard Rock. Was watching tv and saw a commercial for the Naples-Ft Myers Greyhound track and Poker Room. Was wondering if anyone has played there? Is it any good? How many people usually show up for daily tourneys?

Says they also run live nl cash games. Just wanted to get an idea of how it was and if I should make the trip down there.

I've played at a Greyhound Track/Poker Room up in NH (from Mass) and it actually really nice. Lots of big tourneys everyday. Hoping this one is similar.

Was there in November, family has a house nearby, the room is always busy and there is alwasy action. I would recommend going by there and playing, the FL cap rules blow but you can make do and make money there.

There is also the Hard Rock in Immolakee (sp). It is a casino with black jack, slots and poker. No craps tho

It is about a half hour from Estero which is just outside of Naples. Probably about 30 min from the greyhound track as well

I have been to the Naples/Ft myers track but never Immokalee. But its not a Hard Rock. Its just a seminole casino. The only Hard Rock casinos in florida are in Tampa and Hollywood. (owned by the seminoles)

my folks moved to ft myers - i go an play there when im down there and its pretty soft imo. but lots of regulars. lots.

my biggest complaint is they close early, at around 12:30 or 1:00 or something.

Can anyone tell me what games actually run at the moment at this room, especially on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday evenings? (The website has a list of games that they spread in principle, but I'm wondering what regularly gets spread in practice -- especially the likelihood of $5/10 NL running, as well as any non-HE games.) Thanks.

Count on NLTHem, and thats it. Every time I've been, weekends, you'll see 1-2, 2-5 and 5-10...especially from Jan to April. Tournaments are also well attended.

I have been there about 5 times over the past few years (always in December/xmas time on vacation) and have only seen NLHE spread.

i frequent the naples fort meyers area semi often, about 4-5 times a year. my parents havve a place down there and spend the winters down there. I have never been to the dog track but on every trip go to seminole immokalee so i can speak about that. They spread mostly 1/2 nle and occasionally will get the 2/5 game going. One adjustment i found was that no matter how much u raise u will get called. ppl are calling stations no matter what they have or their cards are. another thing about the immokalee is they use 2$ chips for the 1/2 game so getting accustomed to that takes a little getting used to. I like the casino have foudn it to be profitable over the last few years, dont' remember having more then 1 or 2 losing sessions.

I m also looking to head down to Naples area at the start of June. Does anyone know if the PLO games will still run if all the snow birds leave? Where do the PLO games run?

PLO has taken this room over. Its spread all day everyday. Sometimes we get a 1/2 plo going (it was running tonight) and everyday there is at least one 2/5 plo and most of the time 2 at peak hours.

5/10 runs everyday, but is slowing down cause everyone that would play 5/10 wants to play 2/5. They love to gamble gamble lol.

<3 the track. Hate the management, the stupid rules that they seem to make up out of thin air are so out of control.

Raking uncalled bets. Cant buy the button. Cant switch tables if you have over the max buy in cause you dont give players a chance to win their money back. Cant have a cell anywhere near the table. You must literally stand up just to look at a text. Cant even push your chair back 3 feet you HAVE to stand up and be away from the table. LOL @ anyone really listening to this though. Theres so many other things that suck about the track, but there is really no where else to go and the games are so soft you wouldnt want to go anywhere else. But they definitely need a lot of improvements and upgrades. The place is outdated but with a little TLC it could be a great room.

Agree 100 % Could be worst run room in Florida. Floor ruling change day to day . Some dealer don't know the "LATEST" new rules of the poker room. No enforcement of rules during a hand. HATE IT.

I also agree but that's what happens when there's a monopoly in the area. Where else is someone going to play unless they want to drive an hour+? No where that's why they're able to run the room as they do and continue to have a strong clientele.

its really dependent on who shows up which is random. Usually Thursday-Sat is your best bet.
