GL Mike, I'm going to stop Hijacking with MS@PD stuff. I'm just hoping that someone from Mount Airy reads and possibly learns. PD is closer for me but only by about 15 min. And I would take the drive out to Mount Airy(and I bring friends some of them not poker players...hint hint)sometimes if they end up producing a 1st class room and address the issue of 2/5 being 5+1 rake and consider a time instead. Plus no BBJ for the 2/5 NL and up!

The Sands only has a $3/$6 game regularly because that what people wanted to play. For example if you get to the Sands between 8AM and 9AM they usually have 3-4 $1/$2 NL tables going and the other 8 are empty. The floor people say if you want to play...let's say 2/4 limit then you can have a list of interest started and if that list fills then they will run that game. My friend was over and wanted to play 2/4 so they started that game. I got to the Sands about 9 hours later and that 2/4 game was still running. I've been there 6 times since the Sands opened their poker room and that was the only time I ever saw a 2/4 game going. So whatever game gets and interest list going...2/4 limit, 4/8 limit, 5/10 limit....5/10 NL and that list gets filled and they have empty tables they will start that game. I even saw a list of interest started for 10-20 limit.

Anyone interested in 10-20 limit? I know, I know...i need to just start a list, but what good is a list of interest if I'm the only name on it! If we can get a group of 6 or more 2+2ers to meet at a set day and time, we could get a game going. Mon, Tue or Thurs nights are good for me. Sunday night too. I prefer limit to NL, but playing anything under 5-10 is pretty much a crapshoot. I love the 10-20 game at Borgata, and it would be great to get in a game half the distance away!

hahaha, yeah
but if people see the game it might fill up quick.
I'd play the 10/20 LHE if anyone wants to start one up. I can get there any day but Friday this week. You think it's possible to get one going on a Saturday night?

Saturday night is probably impossible. All tables are usually filled with 50+ names on a 1-2 list. I would think midweek or Sunday there should be no problem getting a table isf there's enough interest.

Is this area gonna be a zoo with NASCAR in the Poconos Sunday? I planned on goin but maybe ill just go to the sands

Local traffic in general is usually pretty bad in the Pocono area on a race weekend. They are also doing some work on Rte. 80, which doesn't help. I imagine there will be a nice crowd up at Mt. Airy both Fri & Sat nights.

Pocono Downs might pick up the bulk of the Nascar people since it's up that way. It might be a split between Airy and PD since they're about the same distance from the track hmmm.

I wouldn't skip Mr Airy because of the Race there is probably going to be tons of dead money. Them there Nascar fans drink like it's going out of style.

Yea but traffic on that day is going to be at a stand still

Yeah you will be better off taking the back roads. If you are from NEPA there are tons of back roads to get into the Poconos.

Naw, the wait lists may be large but I bet the games will be extra juicy w/ all the race fans in the area some of which might even be spending the night at Airy and looking to pound some buds and play some cards.

Not sure how far your comming from but I'd just be sure to plan your travel time way in the off peak traffic hours or spend the night at Airy or a nearby hotel. PM me if you want an alternate route to and from the casino and the watergap.

Forgot to mention, Mount Airy had posted in the BBJ ticker that Sit and Go tournaments start next week. Not sure if they mean only single table tourneys or what.

i'm pretty sure that being a race weekend you'll have a tough time getting a room at the last minute. I do agree that the games are quite likely to be good.

You too Mike.

I thought we might hit BBJ right after you left. I had KK and board came K-A-x-A-K and the way it played out, I still don't know what that player was calling/raising with. I thought for sure that I was beating aces full on the river. Although, now that I think about it...would that hand have qualified? I think I read somewhere that both players must use both their pocket cards to qualify the hand. Anyone know the answer?

Anyway ... LOL. That hand brought me ahead for the night. I ended up playing until 4:30.
