I hit BadBeat 2 years ago for $90K after taxes and i still hate the place. I had to meet dealer at a diner to tip him $10K since they don't keep their own tips. Absolute garbage!!!
It's funny for someone who hates mt airy that much to be lurking and commenting about their page as much as you do.. Just saying

Was at the casino last night. Only One half full table running (1,2 of course). Was downstairs in pit talking to a pit boss. He seemed to understand how awful the poker room is. He said on weekends half of the room is still empty. I'm shocked this room is still open. Definitely worst poker room in PA. Maybe on the entire east coast.

The weekend is not empty. Yes, 2/5 is now a rare occurence, but there are plenty of action 1/2 games. I'll take the crazy 1/2 and no smoking over the extra ride to Sands. If I want to play 2/5 I'll obv. go to a diff. place.

Only people who live close to Airy say it's the greatest but for the rest of the state, we all know the truth! Nuff said!

The action here continues to amaze me. I witnessed a guy on Saturday drop 1800 in about 5 hours, he's a regular there, so it wasn't all that surprising I suppose. He bought in 3X for 300, 4X for 200, then one last time for 100. Also noticed a lot of people that usually play at the Sands playing there lately. Must be the allure of the 170K BBJ. It's most likely going to hit on a Fri, or Sat, so why not take your shot at Mt. Airy if you only want to play 1/2.

First Mt. Airy complaint in a while - played there last Sunday because I had Monday off. A floorperson wouldn't let me eat a bag of Combos at the table "sir, no eating at the table" lol

With the Bad Beat getting up there I think I now have my excuse to get up there and see family.

The last time I was at Mt. Airy it looked like somebody had left a bag of Combos crumbs on the felt in front of me. I had to call the floor over to get it cleaned up. It was like they were just eating directly over the table.

Bad Beat hit last night.. Late on a 1/2 table.. don't know the exact details but I heard that a bunch of the players were there for a bachelor party.. don't know who dealt it, or if any regulars were at the table..

Stopped in here a few weeks ago because I was in the area and needed a bathroom so, why not? Arrived around 6pm and asked for a table change shortly afterwards because my table just wasn't very social and I was feeling chatty. Moved around 6:30 to a new table. Went downstairs around 10pm to get something to eat, and security wouldn't accept my Canadian drivers license. I also had my Visa (not credit card, but actual visa to be in the country, which is a photo ID issued by the Department of Homeland Security), and this was also unacceptable. The dude said I needed my passport. I asked for his supervisor, and he said his sup would tell me the same thing. I thanked him for his opinion, and again requested his supervisor. He again said his supervisor would say the same thing. This repeated like 12 times before someone else actually showed up, stamped my hand, and let me in. Cheap apps at the new Guy Fieri restaurant. Went back upstairs and played until midnight or so, after which I requested another table change from my FULL but otherwise blah table. Floor said "one table change per day" and wasn't even kidding. Wasn't. Even. Kidding. Colored up and left. Why do I even go there??

I played at Mount Airy on Friday night, and one of the players (he seemed like a regular) said that a new and bigger poker room is in the works. I heard a dealer mention it, too.

A newer and bigger poker room? The room has two tables running each day. Nothing will change. They've already let it go beyond repair. Everyone knows how ****ty the room is and how little they care about poker players. With Borgata/parx/sands so close, and the fact that most of the time airy doesn't run anything except 1-2 NL, this place is doomed. I'm shocked the room is even still open. So much potential thrown away.

I suppose until they actually do something, it's all talk/rumors. I enjoyed playing there, though, except for having to walk to the casino's cage to cash out.

This is pretty comical but if it were true that would be awesome. Have any more details on this rumor?

I was there last night and I didn't hear that from anyone. It would make no sense as they barely get 2 tables going midweek and even on the weekends they rarely fill all 9 tables. Unless they start upping the player comps and services (don't hold your breath) there is little reason for anyone besides locals and hotel guests to go to this secluded poker room. The action has been pretty good there lately, though.

Does anyone know if they still run the Friday morning $100 tournament? If so, how is the turn out?

They've had one run since July 4th.
Was told that one only had 20 or so players. The previous ones were lucky to hit 40 players. Sands has a friday morning tourney now. Ironically, it started around July 4th. Lol.

Is there a cheap and nice place to stay near mt. airy and camelback? I just called Mt. Airy and they said they don't have a poker rate. Any chance I could get a room comped for playing 1/2 for a few hours? Wouldn't mind relaxing at poker table for a bit after skiing all day. How's the food/hotel in general?

Also do they have reciprocity with other casinos VIP programs?

They will give you nothing for poker. Nothing. They don't even do 40 cents an hour anymore.

Not sure on decent cheaper lodging as I live in the area, I'd just search around it on a site like Expedia or something.

They match Sands and Mohegans free slot play offers weekly I believe but that is all. If you have a super high roller card like Titanum at Borgata or something they may do something for you but I'm not sure if they still will. They do not offer any type of comps for poker anymore.

A decent alternative if you like playing higher stakes and a nicer casino over all for a ski/gamble trip would be Blue Mountain Ski Area & Sands Bethlehem. However they are a greater distance apart than the distance of Camelback to Mount Airy, it's not that bad. If you can find somewhere to stay in the the middle of Sands and Blue it would be 20 min each way to either from the hotel.

It's a good place to play 1/2 with a couple tables going on weekdays and maybe 5 on weekends but nothing else runs anymore.

going to be grinding hard rest of trip; stop in poconos is really for skiing with gf (who doesn't gamble and is spending the first quarter of our winter break with me at borgata...what a sweetie <3). i wouldn't mind to screw around at 1/2 a bit but i have trouble keeping my vpip below 60 when i play that limit...i'm still +EV at it i think. booze equity helps too.

i'll look into somewhere between blue mountain and sands, thanks! i actually like sands a lot and i hear mt airy is sketchy...
