LOL I don't know if you have any knowledge of who owns Mount Airy. With that said I wouldn't doubt it if they just knew the right person/people to get there position.

FYI: It's basically a family run casino.

It's definitely a "family" run casino. Just a different kind of family...

I believe it might have been George Toth who apparently came from Sands AC which closed down. I wonder if that says anything for his reputation. I filed a complaint via email about the situation it will be interesting if I get a reply.

Has anyone's comp balance updated after playing poker yet?

Is there a seperate poker comp card or do they use the regular mount airy comp card? Also saw the post about players buying chips from blackjack dealers??? What's up with that!?!? That's terrible.

That's Mount Airy management right now. Dumbest thing I've ever heard of, I hope they straighten their act up. It's the same comp card for the poker room as anything else. Dealer swipes you in at the table.

Not sure what's going on with the comp system though, myself and a few friends who have put in several hours since Tuesday have not seen an update on our comp balance. When asked on facebook for an update on the poker room comp information the post was merely deleted and ignored. It appears the complaint about the poker room issue that arose last night is also being ignored. It seems like Mount Airy doesn't take to kindly to somewhat negative feedback.

On a more positive note, I think the poker room manager and floor are doing a great job with what they have been given. It just seems like upper management is holding them back from being the better of the 3 surrounding poker rooms and in the long run if they don't change this it's going to hurt them. Especially being that of the 2 currently open, they have the highest rake. Other than travel distance a major factor for most local regs, I don't see why anyone would choose Mount Airy right now. It's still very early in the game and this can all be turned around, I just hope they do it, still have faith.

Just got back from Mount Airy. Pretty much all the comments so far are accurate; there aren't any major flaws, but a lot of little ones that add up. My main complaint is the excruciating slowness. Mostly this is due to a lot of terrible dealers and some strange complicated fill system.

I got there around 3 and they had seven 1-2 tables and zero 2-5 tables. They opened up a 2-5 at 6:30 or so... to a table whose shuffling machine was broken. It was painfully slow before, but this just put me on tilt so I bounced. I don't normally play these stakes but overall the play seemed a bit below average.

Really hope they smooth things out and get a regular 2-5 and 5-10 going (on weekends at least).

Yeah we have the same problem here at MS@PD. There are like 3 good dealers and the way they deal with the dealers rack is ******ed and holds up the game big time.

So I finally got up to Mt. Airy to check out their new poker room last night. Most of the previous reports on here are pretty accurate. While most of the dealers were a bit slow, there were a couple that were very good (above average I would say) and the ******ed fill system they have slows the games up. Those fill trays are tiny. I got there about 8PM and was seated by 8:25 for 1/2 NL. They have those beeper things (like what you get when you are waiting for a table at Red Robin on a Sat. Night) so you are free to roam the casino until it buzzes. By 10:30PM, there was a 20-25 person wait list. They seemed to be filling seats at a good clip. There was a 2/5NL game going as well as a 2/4 LHE and a 1/5 Stud. The room is a bit crowded, but tolerable. The whole podium in the middle of the floor thing wasn't ideal, but it wasn't terrible. The waitress service was OK. (They could probably use 2 waitresses in that room when it is full)

I heard from several people, including dealers and some of the regulars that Nicole, the poker room manager, is the nuts. She seemed to be very nice, but also was able to resolve disputes fairly and correctly. (There was an issue at the 2/5NL table and she took charge immediately and seemed to resolve it well)

The players skill level ranged from terrible to very good, like most places I guess.

Overall, not a bad room, but there is room for improvement.

I stopped in, wee hours of the morning, got a seat immediately, but things were slowing down. I only played for an hour, we had 9 at our table but players kept getting up for smoking, chatting, watching the action at another table, it was annoying. Maybe because it was so late people were losing their focus.

The room does feel cramped and cave-like.

Anyone planning on playing 2/5 today. We have 4 open

Anyone find out what the deal is with comps not working in the poker room? Balance still hasn't updated at all since poker room opened put in 12 hours Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday. I will be down in a few hours.

Currently 61 person wait list for 1/2 there one 2/5 going and a few 2/4 limit games small interest for bigger limit games and 5/10nl but no tables to open them on. Still no floor knowledge about comp updates and there handing out pagers for the wait lists.

17 names on wait lost for 2/5nl

I was told this also, but that the other room would be for tournaments.

It would make more sense to me to make the current room for tournaments (11 tables= 110 players) and the new room for cash games.

Do they have to close 20 other tables to open the downstairs room ? I thought they were limited to whatever number of tables they were originally approved for ...which I think was 72 tables.

Can't believe I haven't made it there yet... too much going on at home (ARGH !). Hopefully get there in the next few days. Will probably head up the road and check out MS@PD also.

Theres no way the new room would be tournament only. With 50 person 1/2 and 20 person 2/5 wait lists on a friday night at 2am they know their losing money more tables for cash games for sure.

I played there yesterday at the 2/5 table, run decent and make a small profit. There's only one 2/5 table, the game is pretty soft. The rake is 5+1. They rake the pot even if there's no flop. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME???????????????????????????? Therefore, the rake is about twice as much as AC.

When the novelty dies down in a few months, these lists and waits will, almost assuredly, not be the norm.

I agree but I still think they will need more than 11 tables for cash games on weekends.

That dosen't sound right at all, are you sure this wasn't newbie dealer error?
