Just got home for some dinner. Same as before only 1/2nl, 2/4, 3/6 & 1-5 stud running. No tables broke yet for them to open a 2/5 even though the interest list is huge. Waiting lists are a little better now about 25 for 1/2. They also started dropping the BBJ around 4pm. Floor is doing a great job keeping the lists moving and out of 4 hours play I only had 2 misdeals from the green dealers. Rake $5 10% +$1 BBJ

I would recommend if possible to be seated on one of the 6 tables with shuffle machines. Apparently they were too cheap to get machines on every table. No shuffle machines + dealers who are still learning how to shuffle = painfully slow games.

Visited today, was very busy took me 1.5 hours to get a seat at 3 pm. By dinner time the list was much more better though.

Btw OMG, I have never seen such terrible play. Vast majority of players looked like home game vets, and they made such terrible plays. I was the only player to bet as a % of the pot the entire time. Hey if 15 dollars was good on the flop, its a good bet on the turn and river right?

Wish a 2/5 game had gotten going, I wonder how bad the play at that table would have been.

Ok, just got back from Mt. Airy. Here's a few observations:

1. Room is too small for that many tables. I kept getting bumped into by the player behind me at the next table and dealers kept making me move to get to their seat when they moved (not their fault). I would also have to say that the room was too loud. Probably because the room is so small. The podium is in the middle of the room, this is a definate mistake. They should move it to the front just outside the room and that would help free up alot of space as well as keep the line to sign in outside.

2. Floor was pretty good. It was very busy and they did a good job of keeping the lists moving. I didn't like that they were chip running as well. They should use dealers that aren't working a table to run chips. The floor has enough things to worry about other than bringing players their chips.

3. Game selection. There were eight 1-2nl, one 2-4, one 3-6, and one 1-5 stud game running. There was a long list of interest in a 2-5 nl but it never got called becasue they couldn't break down a table. I ended up playing stud since it was the shortest wait. I put my name on the 1-2 list, but my name disappeared of the list.

4. Dealers. Dealers were OK. But as the only stud table, there were some mistakes (more than at the holdem tables, I'm sure). One dealer always forgot to burn. Several dealers put out flops after the opening round of betting. One dealer dealt 7th street face up. Nothing catastrohic, and I'm sure with time this will improve.

All in all, I liked the room. There's no way they could run tournaments in the same room, there's just not enough space. There's a few tweaks that could be done to make it better in my opinion, but I will definately visit there again...probably later this week!!

My experience with Mt. Airy is that they are very open to suggestion, and since they are not owned by a gigantic corporation, they can more quickly institute changes.

Be sure to pass along your comments about the podium and chip runners.

I think I'm going to pass on visiting this room until they start to spread some higher limit games. I guess this might not be possible because they don't have enough tables. How can they spread 10/20 NL @ MS@PD and not even get a 2/5 NL game going? This will piss off the peeps coming in from NYC.

I thought this place was going after the high rollers. I guess this is just talk @ this point.

It was the first day. I'm sure once things get settled there will be a regular 2/5 NL daily and probably a 10/20NL on the weekends. Lots of players up here, they are going to have no trouble keeping those tables full.

I understand, I just wanted to say it and hopefully someone from the room will read it.
They are opening a Poker Room. Not a 1/2 NL only Poker Room. At least I hope this is the case. Let me know when they spread something higher than 1/2 NL. Maybe I'll stop by.

Went to Mt. Airy yesterday and it was decent. The room is way to loud and the fact that they have music playing is crazy. Some dealers are super slow but that was expected. They did say they plan on having 2/5 and probably higher once they can break some tables.

In the pit there are a ton of BlackJack tables.

Make a 1/2 table "must move" wait until 8/9 seats are opened, Move players from "must move" to open seats and PRESTO open a 2/5 table. Repeat step one until at least 3 tables are 2/5.

Did you happen to catch what the RAKE was for 1/2 and what they are planning for RAKE @ 2/5 and above?

If anyone is at Airy right now can you please post an update on the 1/2 wait list?

Just back from Mt. Airy. As others have stated, the room has some big design problems (IMO).

1. Too small a space for that many tables. Everything is crammed in too tightly. Relatively few seats are easy to access, and dealers on almost all tables have to beg people to move to take their seat.

2. No rail. The tables at the edge are basically in the walkway. I would not be comfortable leaving my chips on one of those outer tables without a cover.

3. Podium in the middle of the room. In addition to the cramped tables, people waiting are in a line right in the middle of the only decent thoroughfare in and out of the room.

4. Tiny cage in the corner with chip runners waiting in line with patrons. Why have runners if it's going to take just as long for the player to get in line himself?

5. When I got there the music was very loud, but someone complained and got it turned down/off. Only problem with that was that it also cut out the PA seating announcements, which could only be heard in the room if you overheard the floor speaking into the mike, or you heard it from the main casino floor.

I'm glad that it's in view of the floor to try to keep casual traffic going in, but otherwise, I would really hope they do something to address these issues pretty quickly.

One 1-5 Stud, Two 2-4 limit HE, One (I think) 2-5 NLHE, and the rest were 1-2 NLHE. All tables full. They had a 4-8 HE interest list as well as lists for a couple O8 games (I think) but obviously they were going nowhere.

I got there around 7pm, waited about 20 mins and got a 2-4 seat after about 5 mins of 1-5 stud. I can't speak to wait times for the NL games but list for 1-2 seemed somewhere around 20 names when I left at about 9:15pm.

Staff quality was as expected if not a little better than expected for a brand new room. Most dealers handled themselves well. Ran into one very chatty dealer who needs to learn to not discuss the hand in play and to pay more attention to getting hands out, but otherwise not a bad crop.

Some interesting things tonight. Around 2pm the poker room cage closes and floor was sending people to the main cage to buy their chips which I'm pretty sure is very standard in most casinos. Apparently the main cage stopped selling chips at some point around this time and players were sent back to the poker room empty handed.

Big boss man came over to the poker room and reamed out the poker room manager for sending players to the main cage and told her to make them buy their chips at a blackjack table.... The poker room manager was pretty pissed and upset about getting reamed out for such bull****. Pretty ****ing stupid if you ask me, this general manager needs to learn something about how things should run in a casino. Makes you wonder if he even came from another casino or just knew the right people to get the job, idiot move IMO.
