I hear ya, you do get minimal comps though $0.40 an hour at every game. I enjoy playing there because some of the dealers and floor are absolutely great and make the place very enjoyable along with the soft games plus it's the closest card room for me. Hopefully they will strive to improve themselves.

There was a lot of talk the first couple of months about tournaments, a bigger room, etc., but that has died down lately. I get the impression that upper management is pretty clueless about the poker room, which is a shame because there are some pretty decent dealers and floor people (on the swing shift when I play anyway) there.

This is definitely the poorest trained staff of any of the pa poker rooms. but they're still friendly for the most part and the games are enjoyable. i was there last week and they had a poster up advertising the fact that tournaments were starting up at some point. i don't remember the date, but at least it shows they're coming. if i go again this weekend i'll post the details from the poster on here.

I'm pretty sure that poster (I actually recall it flashing on an LCD screen) has been up since they opened in July.

Since there's nothing else to talk about at Mt. Airy...

the loudmouth with the headphones was there in "rare" form Sunday. He was telling his table how he used to date a supermodel who always tried to distract him from his studies when he was in school. She did this because she was jealous that he was a 4.0 student, so whenever he tried to study she'd get naked and dance in front of a mirror. He must spend all day thinking this stuff up.

All I know is, I'll never not bring headphones again. Just in case I'm within listening distance!

Going skiing in the Poconos next week. Thinking of going to Mount Airy for poker a couple of times.

What should I expect in terms of game availability and wait times for mid-week afternoon vs evening?

Sounds like the casino is only okay, but I'm just looking to splash around 1-2 NL for a few hours and don't need a Foxwoods/Borgata setting.

You won't have any problem, the games are nitty at times, action packed other times. It all depends on who is in the room. Do not show before the 12PM dealer shift change. If you do, there are likely to be only 1 or 2 tables of 1/2 going and a wait list with no turnover. You get there at 12:30PM and you are fine. The evening is hit or miss. Sometimes there is no wait, other times up to an hour. But most of the time there is a less than 15 minute wait on a weekday evening. They give you a buzzer, so if there is a wait, you can go and eat or play some blackjack or whatnot. I find the room to be pleasant and fun. Not Borgata, never will be, but good enough for some relaxing and fun NL action.

That looks like Noels head in the back row of the guys in that picture. I'm assuming he dealt it, looks like a hand shuffle table as well.

How ya been Drew? I haven't been to Airy in awhile, I've been visiting Sands on the weekend since the expansion and playing a lot more online lately.

The table share is 10% and it looks like it was 9 handed so 6.4k seems about right.

Say roughly 440k in the BBJ so 44K split between 7 people is about 6.3k

Well,

now that the BadBeat has been hit, and the Sands expansion and spreading Omaha and higher LHE... Is there really any reason to play at Mt. Airy?

For the record... I like Mt. Airy's room better, but if they can't keep up with the competetition, I'm going elsewhere!

My only reason is driving distance. Sands takes me an extra 35 min but with the room expansion, improved comp rate and variety of games its becoming more and more worth the extra drive.

They let Scott go last week and with the bad beat hitting I have a felling the room is going to dry up a bit.

Holy ****, that was a gigantic mistake on their part. He was the best floor person they had aside Nicole. I hope I see him at Sands or a better place where they actually allow him to run a room the way it should be.

It's all part of an evil plot by the big 4 of mt airy table games to slowly weed out the poker only floors then dealers and finally the entire poker room. Until these 4 are out of power the mt airy poker room will continue to fall behind the other expanding poker rooms in the area and never reach it's potential for being one of the best places for poker in pa. Mt airy's whole structure and table games needs a complete house cleaning or it will continue to fall way behind sands and mspd. Congrats to bad beat winners about time
