I think you would get the AK bad beat if you lost with quads vs straight flush OR quads vs quads if only one player had a pocket pair. Right?

I play MCC once in a while, but I'm new to the thread. I'll be grinding 2/5 Friday night though.

Visiting Michigan for the holidays but leave next week. Going to get my rungood on at MCC this weekend.

This will be my first time gambling at a Detroit casino. I see that it will get busy on weekends so I'll call ahead to get on the 1/2 list for sure. As far as parking, do you guys valet or self park?

Self park on roof. Although there's little chance of something shady happening, the roof has less spots for a prospective criminal to hide.

New to the thread, but play at MCC a few times a month.
Was there last night playing 1/2. Action was really good 6ish, tightened up some as the night went on. Ended up $100 after a few hours. Had one really interesting hand.

Big Blind KK
6-7 limps to me, i make it 20, 1 caller who i consider solid. effective stacks are $300-$350ish
flop 973 no flush draws
i bet 35, villain calls
turn A putting a spade flush draw up as well.
i bet 45 villain raises to 145, i tank...
Spoiler:
First off, not sure about the 45 bet amount, i probably need to check or make it like 80. Second, assuming villain is solid, i don't see how the ace helped him. i doubt he called preflop with A9 or A7. On the flop, I don't think he's calling $35 with AK AQ AJ etc. His line feels really like a set to me. 99 77 33 all very much in his range. Also, it is 1/2, so its possible my read on him is off and i'm behind to some goofy two pair. I decide to fold. Villain shows 6s8s. Thought he played this really well. Preflop and flop are questionable, but not awful. And his turn play was great i thought. straight&flush draw are like the last thing i put him on. He's putting an enormous amount of pressure on me if I have KK QQ JJ TT. He's also putting alot of pressure on Ax. Lastly, even if he's wrong and I'm on AA 99, he still has a decent amount of equity. Its rare at a 1/2 table I feel like i got owned by a really nice move, but thought so in this hand.

^^ he played it really well POSTflop, pre is meh. He knew you had a big pair pre, then the ace gave him equity and looks to be a bad card for your perceived range, giving him FE. I like it, but I agree its not an easy spot for you. Either check or make a $75 bet imo

I played at MCC monday night and they had three 2/5 games going and a 5/10 as well. 1/2 was soft and I ran pretty well.

Dropped 2 BIs at 1/2, couldn't get anything going. I'll try again tonight, hopefully the games get a little more splashy. Also got the clock called on me for the first time. Stay classy Detroit...

That table was pretty tough, of course you had me, but also the guy to your right and the kid sitting next to me as all solid players.

- Guy who was also at your table for a few hands tonight

Ah, I wondered if there was a 2p2er at that table. You're right, those guys I tried to avoid and I probably should've asked for a table change. Nice playing with you.

Donk to your right on table 1 tonight is running like God but I doubled up through him when he called 3 streets with AK hi and I turned top pair with AT. He's sitting on about 650 right now and still playing 70% of his hands.

He was down about 400 in the time I was playing, so quite the miracle comeback.

I plan on playing at Motor City Monday. Can anyone comment on what the 2/5 NL action might be like? I'm expecting to get there around 5:00 pm. I could get there earlier, but I assume the action will be better at night, right?

The $2/5 game at MCC on weekends is really soft with more recreational/casual players. Definitely better to find them there later in the evenings. During the week you will get more regulars who can think and you're table might be a bit tougher. Better call 1hr ahead for a seat because it gets busy when the jackpots get big! (313) 237-6735

Bad Beat Jackpots:

$86,900 Quads over Quads
$12,500 Aces over Kings
$1,265 Royal Flush

The jackpots increase everyday at 6pm so these numbers will be higher when you arrive.

To win the "Quads over Quads" Jackpot you and you're opponent need the pair in you're hand to qualify.

To win the "Aces over Kings" Jackpot aces over Kings has to be beat by another hand. (4 of a kind, straight flush etc) Must use both cards in his/her hand to qualify.

Really would doubt it, if so it's in the RxR, but it doesn't seem to run often enough. I think they exist more in limit games.

just joined.... anyways i usually play at MC about 3 days a week. usually from 2 pm to 10pm. I've tried charity rooms like NV downs and docs for a while, but the time it takes to wait for a game or spot or, i decided to try out MCC, and have liked it ever since.

Hey all,
Just found this thread. I play at MC about 4 times a week. I'll post here when I'm playing, maybe somebody will want to grab a bite to eat or just chat. Not many friendly people in the room

I usually play $1/2, occasionally will play $2/5. I was just there earlier today at table 2. They were really timid and I could easily semi-bluff them off a lot of hands.

At the 1/2 tables there are a few good players who are regulars, but most of them are total fishes. 2/5 is more aggressive and better overall quality of players than 1/2. Haven't played at any other tables yet. I just started tracking my winnings on my phone so I can't tell you my hourly rate but I usually walk away with more than I come in with. In my experience mornings are the best time to play 1/2.
I play there at least 4 times a week. I'm a shorter young guy with very short brown hair and a giant red birth mark
