Does this place get any 2/5 NLHE during the holidays?

I would call morongo myself to ask, but last time I called and asked them how big the list was for the 2/5 game they wouldn't give me a straight answer. They basically told me to get my ass down there and like an idiot I showed up cuz I was driving through the area. I ended up playing 1/3 for 5 hours against tards with $40 short stacks before the 7 people on the 2/5 wait list all bailed.

I know the poker room is normally dead except for their ******ed tournies and short stack 1/3 games, but some of my friends are gonna be in palm springs next week so I'll probably be in the area anyway, and from what I heard the other casinos have even less traffic than morongo.

You might check out Agua Caliente in Palm Springs. Bigger games. No 18 year olds. Use the search function. There's a Palm Springs thread somewhere here.

I dont mind playing with 18 year olds but they recently moved the poker room to a much smaller room. I used to enjoy visiting the Morongo but now with the smaller room I will now go to San Manuel.

Recently? Like how recent? Last time I was there they had the enclosed room right inside the entrance from the parking structure.

They changed to the bingo room a few months ago.
Alot smaller room with fewer tables.
I went on a Sunday a few weeks ago and there were only 2 1/3 games going.
The poker room seemed dead compared to 5/6 months ago.

That's a shame. Last time I was there they had the drink machines in the room and were finally offering food service. This move may be as bad as when Harrah's Rincon moved the poker room from the main casino floor to a room upstairs. Killed what little action was there in the first place.

Yeah, basically the poker room is dead! Its a shame too because I enjoyed playing a little poker and some blackjack. Now I will take my low level grinding to either San mAnuel o pechanga.

No. From what I'm told, the poker room fills up on the weekends still and they even run the 2/5 (200 min/ no max) which is a pretty good game.

1/2 nl is the main game there. 1/3 usually gets going in the afternoon. 1/2 buyin is 40-100, and 1/3 is 100-300

They have so few players, they try to make it harder for the weaker ones to bust.

No players, no games, no drop.

San Manuel is way better.

It's a good room for smaller games because they have great promotions, but if you want to play 2/5+ or 4/8+ then you'll have to play elsewhere

Morongo is indefinitely postponing the re-opening because of the COVID spike
