OK so I'm already home from the tag team. Boo. Both my partner and I were super card dead, both tried to make some small moves without going crazy and so kept a slightly larger stack than we might have...

Then in level 7 in the BB I look down and see JJ. I don't insta-shove, which may have been a mistake, but there were 5 or 6 limpers so I just raise to 4x. Call, shove for less than my stack. Consult my partner and shove on top. Our read is that the short stack has an underpair and the others behind (who don't cover us either) have some kind of AQ AJ AT kind of thing or worse.

Read was exactly correct... The third team (including Chris T, Jaho, though he wasn't playing the hand) decided to call with KQ off!!

So it looks super good for us until a Q comes on the flop and another on the river. Terrible call, but they got the result and we were knocked down to around 2K chips. My partner built it up a bit through steals of the blinds and antes in the next level, but we got knocked out at the end of level 8.

Snakes was actually hopping tonight - I suppose one of the benefits of a tag-team tournament is that you get lots more people in the building. They had at least 5 1-2 tables and opened a 2-5 as I was leaving (this may have been a second 2-5 table). There may have been even more than that - their BBJ is almost 100K now.

Sounds like it was really alive. 7 tables is pretty decent.

Thanks for the trip report. Sucks you didn't get too deep. One of the reason I don't play too many tournaments after 4 hours loose a flip and its over.

Playground is also running a "High Hand Happy Hour" promotion for the early morning crowd now. Double bonus for quads/straightflush/royal between 5am and 11am.

Can we get some word on the cash games? I'm considering moving to Montreal but I'd like to know the PLO runs everyday. Does it run everyday? If so which stakes I called them today but the lady on the phone was like what's pot limit Omaha /tilt.

Is there any housing for non status people near playground? Or do you have to have a car?

Try the playground thread. Pretty sure it doesn't runs everyday anymore...

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27...thread-943707/

Also view their face book page. They will answer all your questions or phone them they will be happy to answer all your questions. As for housing, hopefully someone else can help you with that.

Edit: Casino de Montreal doesn't offer PLO. I was referring to the reserve area (snakes, four aces, playground), which is what I thought this thread was. It look like this thread has been changed or moved to be "Montreal area"

Hey guys, looking for information on the plo at playground. Does it actually
Run everyday? If so what stake or stakes? I read an article in Canadian poker Player that said it was mostly PLO there. Talk about
Misleading! Lookin for the real scoop. Frequency players and stake. Potentially moving but I'd like a solid live PLO scene.

I don't play much PLO but Playground seems to be opening tables more and more often. I know they're always ready and willing to start a list and there seem to be enough regulars who play omaha that it gets going many if not most nights at 1/2.

Tuesday night features a PLO tournament and they go out of their way to put some focus on the game on Tuesdays.

So I wouldn't say it's mostly PLO - that's an exaggeration - but you can find it pretty regularly.

NL has been moving up stakes recently to some extent. Lots of 1/2 but recently at least 3-4 2/5 and 2+ 5/5 tables per night, plus occasionally 5/10 (can't say for sure how often, more than once a week for a long session).

Four Aces is closed (whether permanently or temporarily is still somewhat in question). I don't know much about Snakes' cash games, but I would be surprised if they spread plo on a regular basis.

If you go up thread a bit you'll note that there is a new place opening in the next few months - I have no inside knowledge but I'd be very surprised if they didn't try and spread omaha regularly. As you would hope it's very much dependent on player interest - so the more people like you who want to play, the more often it will happen.

About your other question - if you're moving to Montreal you probably want to stay in the city, which means you need a car.

One of my friends was there tonight he said there was no PLO while he was there. However at playground you can start a list for any game the dealers know how to deal and if enough players join the list the game is a go.

From my experience.
PLO usually runs every T/F/S but maybe only like from 9pm to 3am consistently.
And for what its worth a lot of time there is like a 2/5, 5/5 table of one round of PLO and then round of NL...the old guys seem to really like that format.

Ya this is all true. I have played on tables that have one round each or 1 hand of PLO every round (the one hand is usually when 2-3 people are pressured to play a whole round but they refuse)

PLO also runs Tuesdays quite often because of the PLO tournament. Which leads to PLO games.

Anyone even trying that bus should be warned it pass hourly. If you miss it good luck finding something to do at angrinon. Also service ends very early Don't think they have service past 11.

If you are going with a group of people (maybe 5-6) Playground will send a private bus (the white one always parked outside playground) to come and get you. Just don't forget to tip the driver.

This is happening this weekend at Playground: http://www.playgroundpoker.ca/nlh

Mike Bossy & Jennifer Leigh
Carey Price & Pascal Lefrancois
Bobby Dollas & Gavin Smith
Guy Lafleur & Will Molson
Peter Mahovlich & Erik Cajelais
P.K Subban & Antonio Esfandiari
Guy Carbonneau & Michael Mizrachi
Steve Shutt & Marc Karam
Travis Moen & Trishelle Cannatella
Josh Gorges & Jeff Madsen

Hockey legends and current players, poker pros, and two day 1s (Sat and Sun) full of regular players - and even among the "regular" players there will be some pretty high-profile local players. Big prize pool as long as you can navigate the craziness inherent in a charity rebuy tourney. Day 2 is Monday night.

According to the FB page there is still a little space left if you're interested...

There's a $1000 tournament at playground in October. I won't be playing unless I can satellite in (sats on sunday night), but it's a big tourney and should attract some good players.

As well - wondering if anyone has news about the New New place set to open this fall???
