Today there were 20 (mainly because people played in the Spring Showdown Tournaments). There are normally 30-40 (sometimes more) people in this tournament.

"Tight" as in, "online tight", or as in tight for a live 1/2 game (which means just no insane drunks playing trash hands like they were premium hands)?

Don't know if they will get it going that early but most likely there will be a 3-6 Game going since they have a May special going. $2 rake max for limit games from 3-6 to 9-18 every Tuesday. Check out Mohegansun dot com for the details. Good luck

I usually play limit at foxwoods but played it for the first time at mohegan this weekend and was suprised....the 3/6 played just as big as the 4/8 at the woods because all the donks who never fold and don't know what aggressive poker is or how it supposed to be played....they thought i was a lunatic...also, the dealers were very good, probably because they keep their own tips so they make the game so fast...it was good, i'd like for them to have maybe a regualr 4/8 or 5/10 game there but untill then im at the woods

Can't wait till Mohegan implements the high hand jackpot.

- Beginning Jun. 1st.
- Every 8 hours (I believe 8am, 12pm, 8pm, 4am?)
- An extra dollar will be raked for every hand on holdem NL and FL tables to fund the jackpot.
- full house to qualify however, I'm sure the winner will almost always be quads or st8 flush.

I'm estimating between 2k-6k per jackpot.

What do you guys think?
How does this compare to other casino prizes (i.e. bad beat jackpots etc.)

I hit a royal yesterday... a couple weeks too early!

Why would you be excited about more rake for a jackpot that's most likely not going to you?

an extra dollar out of each pot??? they should just pay it out of the rake to begin with!!! and every 8 hours? geez, that card rooms not that big...they should do just 1 or 2 a day, not 3. it's about time they did a jackpot though...just trying to keep up with the woods i guess, that's what competition does. I just wish they would have MORE LIMIT GAMES!!! then i could make that my regular room. i made 4 jacks and 4 aces on saturday there, too bad i probably will never again

They're trying to spread more limit games by reducing rake during the week, but it doesn't seem to get more than one table going. I guess no one is willing to take the first step.

They need to somehow attract those who don't necessarilly care about the rake (the providers) to come. A matching of points earned along with some other promotion may help. If the regular fish from FW came to MS, the other regulars would quickly follow.

How do they get foxwoods regulars to switch though? i am one....and i will say right now that if they start having 4/8, 5/10, and 10/20 games constantly running, that would be where i played from now on....coming from hartford, it's closer, and the casino in general is just nicer...foxwoods does give poker players more than mohegan though...these hand jackpots arent the way to do it....they have to OFFER us something, and it would be to their advantage... i ocassionally play table games, and poker players like to gamble in general, so there would be more action coming to them than just the rake...and when i get hungry, i go eat, so the restaraunts would be getting more money...mohegan makes it seem like you are lucky to be playing poker there, when really the customer/player is more of an asset to the casino then they are an asset to us

I'm not sure, but I think the regular mid limit FW players stay there primarily because of the points they get on their card. If MS promoted a match of that or offered similar value (or even more than that may need to be offered), they might be able to get the game going. I'm talking primarily about the regular, long time mid limit players (and also the break even types)who are essentially the income source of the few working pros. The few pros that I've spoken to would gladly come to MS if there was a game going.

Regarding comps/points. The regs at MS get VIP lounge access 24 hours/day Mon-Fri (free food, plus could bring 1 guest). Also if you are one of the top 150 players in regard to hours played per month - they give you a daily $10 deli coupon to Chief's deli. I use mine to buy a few drinks before I go home.
points at 2/5NL game is $2 per hour. Not sure what the FL points are.

How many hours are you putting in a month to be a top 150 player?

about 80 hours per month should do it to qualify for the $10 daily coupon.

Also, I should point out that I know some regs that were upgraded to the "wolf" card within 2 weeks. The wolf card lets you access the VIP lounges. They put in like 80 hours in 2 weeks though.

I think MS comps their regs well. There are talks about new comps next month for the 2/5NL regs. I know quite a few former FW NL regs that only play at MS now.

I think it caters to nitty regs like me.

Plus, I would have taken it down probably 3 times in the last 3 months. Definitely once (Royal).
