I haven't been in a week and a half or two but my last 4 trips it was amazing to me how tight the 1/2 tables were. Maybe it was different because they were all weeknights, no Fri/Sat, I donno. Maybe it was just the tables I was at.

Is there some trick to getting the sun to care about customers? I called to get a rate for the tournaments next week and they would not give me any discount because i did not have a players card and the only way to get one is to go. So obv ill stay at foxwoods as I can usually get a deal there.

Dear Fisherfolk,

Get a Player's Card and you'll be able to get the Poker Rate.

Everytime I go they charge me $300 a night, what do you just call and ask for the the rate?

Rambo,

Once you've played approx 4hrs...you can go the Pit Boss and ask if it's possible to get a poker rate. They will do their best to accomodate you efficiently.
Most casinos need play BEFORE you can get a room rate.

Change tables. I've rarely sat at a 1-2 game at the Sun I didn't like. But sometimes you do have to change your game a bit to exploit the weak tighties.

Ahh, I was not talking about a poker rate but a tournament rate. Ive been to dozens of casinos without having a card first and been able to get the tournament rate and a lot of time, a lower rate wo a tourney, so lol at the idea that most casinos require a card first.

Ill stay at foxwoods for close to free. so if I bust out early MS will get none of my other play because of this

In the thread,

Mohegan Sun Spring Showdown 1.5K Main Event $500,000 Guaranteed
Mohegan TM posted, the room rates are $99 Sunday through Thursday and $149 Friday and Saturday.

These rates are for the tourney only players, and there are rates for regular live game players. I hear that the turnout for these events is looking good, and that it may be too late to book a room.

I would call right away if you are looking for a room, don't wait till the day of the event.

Last night was busy for a Thursday, with lots of faces I didn't recognize.

I've played Mohegan Sun once in my life, poker only, called for poker tourney rate about 4 weeks ago and got $69 for Sunday and $49 for Monday. Guess a good deal.

Thats a good deal, and they advertised a tourney rate. They just dont seem to want to get new customers as they would not let me have it without a card.

Was at MS Friday night and Saturday afternoon; they had a 150-300 Hose
(maybe Horse) game running. To big for me, I play 2-5 NL, but I was a little impressed.

What is the buyin for that game?

idk but, if every street is capped, you'd need $3,600 to see the hand all the way to SD.

You mean 50X times right?

Nope, 5x big blind in limit games.

So at 2-4 you can buy-in for $10? I don't play limit but aren't the blinds in 2-4 $1 and $2?

What is the max?

Ooops, I meant 5x the big bet. 2/4 limit is a $20 buy in. Sorry about confusion.

200/400 HORSE $2000 buy in.

There are no max buy ins in limit.

Can anyone tell me what kind of volume the daily tournaments get? Specifically the Friday, 2pm $200 tourneys? Thanks.
