No sports betting in CT. Unless you're confusing it with the Race Book over near the bus lobby.

IMO, your best bet is to go straight to the poker room, drink, watch the Masters & play 2/5 all day & all night. But that’s just me.

Heard the rumor, from a dealer, that the poker room is moving to the Hall of Lost Tribes in the Earth Casino. Also heard a bartender at the bar outside the Poker Room say the same thing, the bar is also closing she said. Heard this all before but we'll see.

New location might be a little better for walk in traffic since people coming from the Indian Summer garage will walk right by the room. Also would put the room across from the race book and near the Asian gaming area.

The Lost Tribes rumor began in 2012, picked up steam again in 2015, and now apparently has gotten its legs back now in 2018 lol.

Ultimately, there will be changes in the not too distant future as the CT casinos downsize with Foxwoods Rainmaker and Mohegans Casino of the Wind being the most logical to be boarded up/turned into office space once MGM and Wynn open. It's funny that the Lost Tribes rumor is again circulating even though this time is does make some sense heading into the areas new 2019 casino marketplace.

How many hours of NLH 1/2 is needed before you get comped rooms Sunday-Thursday?

Getting fully comped rooms here is difficult unless you're a big player outside the poker room. The other way is if your wife or gf throws money around outside.

Doesn't hurt to ask, but that's what I've heard and you can always just use your points to book a room.

Foxwoods is much better in offering comped rooms.

Alright, thanks for the reply! I already have rooms at Foxwoods, but my grand plan was to get comped rooms both places so i could get comped 4 days hehe

Thanks for the input guys. We ended up at Bow and arrow by default... service is slow but 50 cent wings and $2 drafts did the trick

Had a great time at mohegan Saturday night by the way. I was surprised how easily our group of 6 was able to play together at craps and blackjack tables...i played 2-5 NL from about 1am-4am when I was ready fo fall asleep. Poker Tables were generally fun with nice people. Plenty of regs but plenty of personalities. . Got my stack of 500 up to around $1k but then dribbled back toward even after running trips into a set and refusing to call off my whole stack on a coin flip a few times.

Has anyone ever seen this at mohegan sun in CT? I'm staying in June for the slayer show and I wanted to know if I should stay there or just take the ride to foxwoods for 5/10

5/T rarely, if ever runs at Foxwoods. If you're looking to play 5/T you should play at Mohegan. Mohegan gets a 5/T every Friday and Saturday, sometimes with multiple games.

Wow, when did the FW game die? That used to run every day a few years back.

2/5 PLO siphoned off a lot of 5/10 NLHE players.

5/10 started running last night I think ~7-8 pm. They had a progressive high hand promotion going on. When I'm there on a weekend night I usually hear it announced around that time. I haven't seen a 5/10 at Foxwoods in a long time.

so I've been playing 1/2 for the last year between FW and mohegan and have been a winning player. Thinking about moving up stakes to 2/5. Everytime i look at the 2/5 tables, it seems like its the same group of players which makes it intimidating to be the new guy.

any suggestions on when and where to take a shot at 2/5 between FW, mohegan, and TR.

also, for those that made the move, is the game play drastically better?

thanks

Holiday weekend coming up and Saturday is supposed to be a beautiful day...

Any thought on how that will impact the 11:00 $150? Normal size field, bigger or smaller?

The game play on average is better than 1/2 but it's far from drastically better. Captain obvious here but..... take a shot on a busy night when there are several tables going. If you are a good player you will be able to spot the fun players pretty easily. Also, don't be intimidated by seeing lots of regs; Being a reg doesn't make you good at poker. Good luck!

Twin river always has at least 1 5/10 game and often 3 tables. That’s where most of them went. The rest switched to PLO

I heard October 1st with goal of getting in during month of September. It looks like they are slowly beginning to remove gaming equipment from that particular casino so they could be looking to shut down that side sooner.
