If you can scrub the story of any identifying info of the other people (KH is fair game since he is famous) feel free to share.

They use to advertise 10/20 no limit.....so as far as earning points on your card, if they didn't have it set up for 10/25, they just used another limit in their Bravo system to give the players the correct points. In this case it must have been 80/160.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting unbanned from the property?

My guess would be depends on why you were banned in the first place.
If it’s cheating related, etc thats for life.
If it’s something else, a call to the poker room manager would be a start.

People have been saying PLO is the game of the future for years. It's not. It will never get big because it's too complicated for newbies to understand easily enough to not lose every single time they play.

I totally agree. I’ve run mixed game tourneys and avoided adding PLO in the mix. The math is too much for “most” of the casual players. Many other variants of poker that are enjoyable!

I called this morning to inquire about a 1/1 game. I was told that 14 players were on the waiting list yet no game was running. Is this standard procedure? How frequently does the game sun?

Bravo App shows one game of 1-1 going right now. They had one going last Saturday also. Usually only one table of it. I have never played it, so im not sure how it is. GL!

I've seen a full list of 1-1, just doesn't seem a priority to open new games for it.

One time the person at the desk told me players "bury" their name on it while playing other games so they probably won't start a new one. I have no idea what she meant by that or why you would do it. If anyone knows what she is talking about I'd be curious to know.

As far as the game plays, I'd say it's largely worse than the 1/2

Tighter preflop
Same rake
100 BB max buy in

Prolly better off buying in $200 at the 1/2. I first thought this game would kill some of the action at 1/2, seems like it just siphons off some of the nittier, more risk averse players.

What she probably meant is players that always play 1/2 anyway, will put their name at 1/1 "just in case" and so forth they're not gonna leave a 1/2 game to go start a 1/1.... so essentially the list is just a "ghost" list

No problem, it's usually the same situation say there's a 5/10 Omaha8 running, and the same players playing have their names on a 10/20 Omaha8 list... they won't call it in danger of breaking the 5/10 game.

I play the 1/1 occasionally. My friends and I like to call it "poker bingo".. The strategy is even less than that of 1/2 if that even exists at that level. Basically, sit with $40 and wait until you have AK or better and shove.. Get 2 callers and hopefully you win enough to sit at 1/2 lol..

At the 1/1 you will find 2 types of players. The guy that doesnt play but also knows how to play so hes super tight, and then theres the hardcore grinder that has no life and preys on these people.

Its either 1/1NL or 2/4 limit while you wait for your desired table.

I find that a lot of the "better" players that play 1/1 are too aggressive. They raise too big and it plays like a big 1/2 game. The 1/1 doesnt even matter youll see $12 preflop raises every hand. This also kills the action and no one wants to play with that, unless you have AK and you just get it in against these guys and play some bingo lol

We definitely have different experiences at 1/1. Poker Bingo sounds fun if you can get a table of people willing to call bad, I just haven't seen it at 1/1.

I don't agree. PLO has become a VERY hot game in many poker rooms, particularly at nearby FW. The best way to describe it to those who those unfamiliar with it is it's super hold'em. Still your best 2 cards play. Usually people curious will give it a shot after you explain it like that. Mohegan regs seem to not be interested at all and that's fine.

I notice Mohegan is a much nittier room in general than FW. Much closer knit group of regs due to the smaller player pool. Definitely a friendlier room than fw, but the much more tighter/casual player pool is not conducive to PLO running regularly. That's OK.

Mohegan is my favorite room of the big three in the area (other two being Twin river and FW). Best atmosphere and comps hands down. Just not a ton of games to choose from and they tend to play much smaller than the other 2 rooms, so I'm there the least.

But I do genuinely like Mohegan and am making it a habit to check bravo there frequently in case bigger games or PLO break out. My hope is plo becomes bigger here so I can stop going to FW altogether, but I'm not holding my breath.

You can also log into the Mohegan Sun website and click on the “book a room” link. Free rooms will show up in green on the calendar. Check often as free rooms can come and go frequently.
