Hi all,

Need a quick answer if anyone is able to help - was the Mohegan Sun exceptionally busy last night, particuarly for 1/2 NLHE? What were the wait times or how long was the list?

Thanks!

I was there from noon - 9PM. 1-2 was open seating the whole time. 2-5 had a very short wait. When they get 8 people on the list they open a new game; unlike other places.

I never waited more than 10 minutes for 1-2 at MS. (except during grand opening) Are you the guy that always wears the Romo shirt ? you went to Joel Mchale about 3 months ago ?

+1 to this.

If necessary, the floor people will start dealing. They just add the table to the dealer rotation and keep dealers for overtime. I've never waited more than 10 minutes during the weekend.

This week starts a big tourney series at MS. Will the ring games be better (juicy, more tables) or worse (nits and long wait) on Saturday?

Turning Stone is the other option.

If the WPT series @ Foxwoods was any indication, the juices will be flowing! I would def hit MS vs. TS.*

*Granted, you may have to wait for a table for a while if you don't get there at the right time.

Thanks for the info. We will hit MS on Saturday from 11am-8pm or so.
I'll post a trip report.

I am thinking about an overnight trip to Mohegan on the Saturday of Thanksgiving, the 28th. How many 2-5 or 5-10 games are normally running on weekends? What is the max buy in on both games?

I just got back from Mohegan Sun first time. Was headed to foxwoods but made last second decision to go to MS instead.

General thoughts: Poker room employees were all very friendly and although there were a tons of accidentally exposed cards preflop by dealers, they really made zero major mistakes.

The players at 1/2 NLHE were not anywhere near as bad as I thought they would be. Table was very tight and hard to squeeze money out of. At first, actually, 5.5x preflop raises were getting 4 callers every hand, but after 1 pm different players game in and it was a nit-fest.

I was down about 100$ back and forth for the first 6 hours... I played a little too lose at first and had to recover later.

I didn't get carded, which is weird, since I look 16 and got carded 6 times in one night at Borgata.

Only hand that I feel worth mentioning went as follows:

MP raises to 12
Next guy calls 12
I raise it to like 50 with JJ from the button
SB raises to 200

Everything I had on SB was that he was a -complete- nit. He played soooooooo few hands and raised huge every time he had a big hand. I got into it AQ vs KK and flopped AQx vs him and he seemed annoyed that I thought AQ was -ever- good vs him preflop.

I tanked and folded which I guess is totally standard given read (really this can only be AK JJ+).

Overall I had a ton of fun and went on a sick run last hour I was there hitting QQQ22, KK vs JJ, JJ vs a broken draw, AK on an AQx flop.... so after having a static sized stack for whole day I ended up doing decent. Will be back soon.

Anyone know what the expected turnaround or available seats are for the Mohegan Sun Fall Showdown event on Friday November 20th (Event 9: $150K Guaranteed, $260+$40 NLHE)?

If you have any feedback or experience with Mohegan's tournaments, I'd love to hear it.

How would you describe the play of 50-100 + mixed games at the Sun? Are these games frequent?

You'll see limit, no-limit, and stud. There's often a 200/400 mixed game on the weekends and occasionally PLO will get off the ground.

Anyone know if mohegan is planning on hosting a heads up no limit holdem tourney anytime soon?? I have never seen one there and wondering if it was a thought?

I'd be surprised. You need 5 times the dealers to cover the same number of players in a regular tournament. It goes slower because you have to wait for brackets to finish before moving on. It would be hard to charge enough to make it worth their while.

Can't say how many games will be going in limit, however I was told that last year the temperature was hot during the winter because the vent to the Wind casino discharges first in the poker room. It has been cold this fall so far when I've been there, so they may have "fixed" it.

Does anyone have any idea how many runners they will let into the Black Friday tournies? It only says "Seating May be Limited". Fwiw, I am mostly interested in the evening bounty tournament.
