I'll be heading to the MS next month, I'm chomping at the bit to go.

I've read this whole thread, but can't see what the min BI for the $1/2NL.
($100?)

No one answered this other question either: Is the beer free when playing at the $1/2NL?

So many questions.... but I'll save some for closer to the time.

Minimum buy-in for $1/$2 NL is $60 (I'm almost positive).

And yes, you can get beers for free but you ought to tip the waiters/waitresses a buck or two especially if you want to see them within the hour as they have a tendency to disappear.

$60!!

Is there any value in playing a short stack strategy? Trying to get it all in on the flop with TPTK/TPGK?

Hopefully win a deeper stack and change gears a bit?

Bearing in mind I'm just going to be playing to the banter, want to be sociable and have a laugh, but still want to play solid poker and not let any suck outs ruin my day.

Probably 80% of the time I am there, I see him and he is always wearing the same exact suit. He has greyish hair and is probably in his 50's. Just curious.

Qmaster, there are 5 or 6 of us headed down tomorrow for the 150K guarentee, I hope there is a short field but I personally think they will get 4-500. We shall see.

Need some advice....

I've got 10 days to burn, because I'm staying at a mate in CT and his boss need the spare (my) room.

I'm going to head to Boston for a trip and stop at MS for a few days, but want to do it on a budget. Ignore BR.

At the moment I'm thinking of getting a cheap hotel in Groton or Mystic ($50-$60 a night), then busing it (ideally complimentary buses) to MS.

Does this sound possible? My concerns are there will no/few buses, at odd times, and not at 4am when I want to sleep.

Anyone know of a place to stay? What about getting poker rates at MS? I'll probably only be playing 1/2NL cash.

I'm going to ring around, but would like the 2p2er's input first.

Summary:
Where to stay on a budget that will give me the flexibility to stay at the casino til the early morning, or to go home at 10pm if I'm broke . Approx. $60 a night.

Cheers.

Hmm...Were you the guy playing 1-2 NL around 130pm today who won a big hand on Aces vs Queens preflop and then made a huge stink about some guy who accidentally put 2 red chips in the pot when he meant to just call? Sorry if you're not him, but that was pretty greedy, shameful, embarrassing ...and it slowed down the game...

"[name removed] two coats"... lol. was sitting to his left at the 2/5 today for a bit.

Good to see the Sun so packed today! love the action... good change from the daily grind.

Have any MS/Foxwoods regulars made it to day 2 for event 1?

went to mohegan with a buddy today and wanted to play the tourney but found out that they were planning on ending the day at 1am, so i didnt feel like making my buddy wait because he wasnt playing.

ended up playing 1/2 instead...2nd session i get sat at a table where 4 players ask what a straddle is.

old guys start yelling at me for raising every hand (same table as "what does a straddle mean?" "so, i have to put in 4 chips to call?")

+550 for a 4 hour session

I was actually surprised that they had a lot of 1/2 games going on a wednesday day - i figured they would have 3 of 4 max but they had a descent amount going and there were always people on the list. IMO tournament should have all been played in the expo room rather than having about 15 of the tables be used up in the main poker room - i think there was a waiting list of 20ish people for 2/5.

note to self - play at mohegan = softer than at woods

I'm pretty sure this is me. Not gonna defend my attitude, since the remarks are mostly true, however I've rarely gotten into it with a dealer. I'm there 5 days a week and am friendly with most of the dealers, if not cordial. But yeah, a couple really suck and I've on occasion let them know if I'm unhappy with their work.

Thanks for the minor props on my play. My name is Alex, say hi.

Oh and this one isn't me. I haven't played at Foxwoods in many months. So there's multiple Turtle lookalikes. For clarity, I'm the one with muscles, short fuse and awesome at poker. Peace.

Oh ok, nice job in the tourney then...BTW do you know what first place got? Does anyone know? Foxwoods has a very similar tournament coming up in August and i plan in playing in that one, even though the garaunteed money is less.
